I've been keeping up with this story from local media, but I hadn't heard this. I take no joy in this man's failure. But, we have to be accountable for our actions.
And yet, he still seems to be a lawmaker. Forgive me if I find that to be a bit more worrisome than him still being a pastor. Not that I think that he should be able to do either, but as a pastor he probably had a lot less ability impact a large number of people's lives than he does as a lawmaker.
It appears even God is sick of this bullshit. When reached for comment on the subject, one of the residents said:
You scared me. I thought that statue had been destroyed. Of all the confederate statues, that fiberglass monstrosity is my very favorite.
Well, Laura's remnants are scheduled to hit this area in a few days, last I heard. When Katrina blew through here 15 years ago it did a lot of damage (I lost part of my deck roof from it), so it could still happen.
It's only just struck me that they riffed on that name for "Johnny Rehab" in Robocop 3. Of course, the cops were on the side of the protestors in that one, so the mental disconnect is obvious.
Cool! Allegations are good enough - depending on your demographic of course. Can't wait to see the statue purge over the next four years! Well a statue of the notoriously evil racist Frederick Douglass came down this summer so all statues are fair game I guess.
just calling it as I see it! I'm sitting back and enjoying the roller coaster ride for the next four years (at least).
By roller coaster ride, do you mean your obvious mental decline? Do you have anyone who can help you?
Hilarious! Anyway I'll enjoy watching Biden voters get the government they deserve if the Democrats get complete control.
define "contents". Do I believe that the news article is true? It seems to be. And yes I do think that the "woke" mob (multi-racial so don't freak out) will be full-speed ahead to make any token gesture to make themselves feel better. These statue removals and school renaming campaigns don't seem to accomplish anything. Credit where credit is due, the statue is being removed in a safe, professional legal manner rather than torn down by an angry mob for a change. If you disagree with my viewpoint or are offended that is your prerogative.
When your school has a giant statue of a guy who fought to keep Black people enslaved, an "atmosphere of hostility and cultural insensitivity" is pretty much automatic.
You know, Democrats have been in complete control before, and we didn't turn into Venezuela. I'm not sure what you expect might happen.
In fact, the last two periods of complete Democratic control set in motion major periods of economic expansion ...
