I haven't been paying attention to the shortage much because my son has been very busy lately (we shoot together) and have plenty in stock for now. It will be interesting to see if ammo in general is on the rebound when it is time to restock.

I think they sell the Bulldog here at the PX at Fort Gordon. Of course it would be overpriced as are all their guns. :brood:

Damn. Some asshole broke into my Dad’s gunroom and stole 350 rounds (250 9mm 100 .45 of target) from his ammo shelf on Thanksgiving.

    Who does that?!?!

The antique gun store my friends and I used to visit had a FOUR gauge punt gun. It took two of us to lift the fucking thing.

I read that way back in the days of commercial duck hunting they used 4 gauges to put a serious amount of lead downrange at large concentrations of wildfowl. I wonder what a 4 gauge slug would do to a medium/large animal? I'm guessing it would be adequate!

In my family guns aren’t a social marker but a tool.

Can you tell what kind of hunting he does the most of?

If I did I might be tempted to sell the ammo at ridiculously inflated prices right about now! I hope if you watched the video you weren't disappointed that he never mentioned .37 caliber titanium rimfire Mongolian Navy lever action pistol ammo. Guy took the low-hanging fruit like .22 LR and 30-06 rounds. :(

Regardless my thoughts of buying another gun are indefinitely on hold until a variety of handgun rounds become locally available.

There was plenty of .357 sig ammo in that video. Now to find out where it's actually GOING, cause it ain't here:madcookie:, and don't get me started on that "new shooter" BS line because no one's buying glock 31s or the rare .357 P226. You hardly saw those in the wild BEFORE the chinese bioattack. I wasn't even planning on buying mine when I got it. I went to my LGS/Range to get some practice in and they just kind of had one sandwiched between the .40 cal models. Is anyone even producing "oddball" pistols right now?

Yes, most new shooters aren't buying up .357 Sig. But my experience is that stores usually have a lot less of that than other calibers, and so any uptick in demand for it is likely to cause it to sell out.

Even Sig makes only--what?--a couple of models in .357 Sig? Glock has 3 models in that caliber--they're even available in California--but I never see them.

Its the P226 and the P320 for sig and the 31, 32, and 33 for glock. You could try asking your gun store to order one, but that may be illegal in Cali.

The Glocks are legal, the Sigs are not.

I bought a .357 Sig conversion barrel for my Cali-legal .40 P229, but the conversion barrel doesn't have the slot for the loaded chamber indicator and so won't install. :(

I remember your post about that when I posted my glock. That blows. Do they make a cali barrel?

Not that I've been able to find. I can remove the LCI, but then there's a bit of a hole.

    No.

I thought about removing the LCI, chopping it so it would fit flush and putting it back in. It would never pop up, and there would be no hole

Last week I got an email from one of the vendors I use advertising a relatively decent price for Wolf 7.62x39 (about $0.50 a round, IIRC, which isn't great, but beats the $1 a round prices I've been seeing for several months now). I passed on it because I have plenty of that caliber for the time being and I'm not desperate to pay that much yet.

A friend recently got a decent deal on some .38 special but I don't know what he paid per round (he includes shipping and handling in his consideration of cost).

BK does know his way around some lesser know weapons! Last night on a rerun of Paws Stars (my wife watches it) a guy brought in a bunch of old .32 rimfire pistols which I had no idea even existed.

Probably the best way to do it as long as you're fine just press checking.
