Let's pretend that what Trump was saying was actually true:

Trump won the election.

There was, however, massive and unprecedented fraud. Dead people voting! Ballots for Trump being destroyed! Ballots for Biden being faked! Voting machines switching votes from Trump to Biden. Cats and dogs living together!

Let's further say that for some reason, the courts were refusing to do anything about this massie fraud. And the politicians in the various states were refusing to do anything about this fraud. And Congress and even the vice president were refusing to do anything about this fraud. All of them knew this fraud existed, but they were just refusing to do anything about it.

In this scenario, do you think mere peaceful protest would be called for?

Would this be a good time to mention, just in passing, that all of the actual fraud in this past election cycle turned out to have been committed by Trump supporters?

Remember the rioters were specifically looking for Mike Pence and were ready to hang him.

Why?

Trump explicitly called out Pence during his speech that morning and also tweeted about him.

Trump didn’t tell protestors: go to the Capitol and kill Mike Pence.

But his words and tweets did threaten the VP’s life.

That is indefensible, especially coming from the President of the United States, the supposed leader of the ‘free’ world.

And Pence is pissed according to reports. Not pissed that Trump put his life, his wife's life, his child's life, and his brother's life in danger...but because he said mean things about him.
