I’ve said before, McDonalds (and by extension the franchise fast food business in general) has made a lot of millionaires over the years.
Several times a year for everybody in my corporation. Yes it is a random selection, so it might be once a year for me, or it might be five. If you are involved in any accident or incident of course you get tested immediately.
It doesn't have to be tied to government work. Anybody working construction (carpenters, roofers, etc) is drug tested these days in the more reputable high-paying companies. The technology is very cheap and available, so it makes sense from a liability standpoint for your company to be drug free.
I have worked in those jobs, assplow. I know exactly how difficult the work is and what quality of worker it attracts. It is NOT worth the wages to support an entire family, and I am not interested in what someone who fails utterly at planning their life wants to pretend they deserve.
McDonald's, Hardees, Little Caesar's and a little mom and pop greasy spoon called Chuckwagon. I've also worked c-stores, hardware and a Radio Shack. Please, go on and explain to me how it works.
I understand that if grunt laborers keep demanding twice what they are worth, they will be replaced with robots who are cleaner, more polite and actually speak clear english above a third grade level.
Oh, so now you're pretending to care about the plight of the lowly fast food worker. Very convincing.
Not pretending and don't care. Unlike smug little posedown weasels like you, I don't bother with the hollow facebook meme, bumper sticker slogan pretense of giving a fuck. Neither of us is going to do jack fucking shit in the real world to change any if it. I am at least honest about it.
I bet you @14thDoctor has done more than you have. I know for certain I've done more than you have. Just because you don't give a fuck doesn't mean the rest of us don't.
I'm not preening and making noise, I actually get involved. Direct action, mutual aid, these are real things that people who give a shit do. You're here blustering, so no, you don't get to call it preening since you do nothing and openly admit as much.
I can't know what you do in the real world, but what you and 14thDouchecannon are doing here absolutely is zero cost, unimpressive smug moral preening.
No, you can't know, but you tried to make the assumption anyway, and in doing so openly admitted you don't do dick, so your words mean jack shit here.
Nope. I work for one of the highest paying companies in my area. The rank-and-file get tested when they're hired on, then if they have an accident that results in an injury that requires medical attention, or causes $200+ in equipment damage. Unless, of course, they happen to be management, then they don't get tested. Or the employer doesn't care. An ex of mine talked about how she not only smoked a joint in the days before she had to take a drug test to get a job, but she blazed one on her way to actually taking the test. She still got the job.
Fortunate, then, that I don't depend on the approval of faceless assbags on the internet to validate myself. I've met plenty of people who make the same noises as you, and not a single one of them was worth a greasy pinch of shit for a solid day's work, or really anything save a bunch of pissy noise.
What if he (or anyone really) votes for policies because they feel like they will help people, but the policies end up not doing shit, or even have the opposite affect? In other words unless you are psychic who the hell are you to tell people how they should vote?
Material accomplishment doesn't matter. Empty, symbolic gestures are all that matter when you base your entire identity around posturing for "likes" and "retweets".
Many fast food restaurants are open 24/7. Even the ones that aren't, are definitely open over lunchtime. So there's an inherent problem to arguing that teenagers and students should make up a huge chunk of their workforce, unless you're willing to give up your right to complain when your neighborhood McDonald's is only open from 3:30 to 8 p.m. on weekdays.
McDonalds (or at least these McDonalds) wouldn't be facing a labor shortage if they could just replace the labor with machines. Of course, they wouldn't be facing a labor shortage if they paid more either.
interesting side-note: take away that microphone and it looks like he's racking an invisible shotgun. Side-note II an invisible shotgun would be awesome.
classy? But believe it or not a few nut jobs have already said as much about kids knife fighting. But for the most part pretty much everyone by now realizes that in this situation the cop acted accordingly and with no other realistic options available.
