I like the concept of Blockchain.

Cryptocurrencies themselves can kiss my ass and are basically a tool for promoting illegal or unethical activity.

That's the way they're often used, yeah, but the pristine idea itself is interesting.

One can say that about any number of ideas, of course.

When it's not easy to tell if a currency system is satire or the real thing, there's a problem.
More gibberish at the link. I literally don't care if the story is legit or not, there's not a goddamned thing about Musk, cryptocurrency, or the web that could enable folks to automatically know what they're dealing with. Could it be satire? Yup. Could it be some kind of scammy bullshit? Yup. Does the fact that Musk tweeted something that vaguely might be connected with it give you a clue as to anything? Nope.

    I trade crypto.

    I don't hold it.

One day, the faithful HODLers are going to look back in horror at how much they could have got out at.

Bitcoin will not replace the US dollar as the world's reserve currency. The narratives are in place to keep the scheme alive and are subject to change (alternative currency to store of value to inflation hedge).

The community is giddy over institutional involvement. You think big money is going to sit on a 5-10x return like they do? Yes some bigger names have made a very public song and dance about holding. But the majority of institutional money is riding the momentum.

I like it because it's a very volatile, tradable asset. You need to take those attributes away for it to work as a viable currency. If you do, then who cares? Those in "it for the tech" can't help but spout price targets every other sentence.

Some are horrified it's only gone up threefold from the previous all time high. "That can't be right! We're entitled to say least 150k this cycle!"

All the while, Ethereum and other shitcoins keep chipping away at BTCs dominance. In terms of potential for viable, real world applications, Ethereum is the winner.

The US dollar, fiat currency, is a scam propped up by the Federal Reserve. Go back to the gold standard, then we can talk.

Why would I want the economy to crash? There's a reason that the gold standard was jettisoned - not the least of which is that its value is completely arbitrary too.

Ooh, the far-right don't like that! Imagine if he lost his Idiot FREEDOOOMMM!!!!....

I would give Trump props for this, but I think he's just worried about his own money-laundering scams since he's not set up for Russians to buy real estate off him in Bitcoin, and he wouldn't know if he was getting a good return or not.

He is old and bitcoin confuses him like the TV remote. Twitter is easy to set up for an elderly person to use. If they like their phone and messaging people they learn it quick and have no problem with it. Bitcoin is going to fall into that area where he can't imagine what it is all about so he shouts at it like the old man he is. The funny thing is that it would be the greatest thing in the world if they made trumpcoin for him. It is a scam he can't do because he is too stupid.

It took me a long time to actually get to the information in that article. Yes, it is informative, but there is no hot tub that is in the 60's. Even the discharge of the water at 98 degrees in the summer, which is not the actual temp of the lake, is 98 degrees which is not hot tub temps. That is warm pool water. Hot tub temps are around 110+. I am going to say a 70 degree lake is a cool to cold lake to jump into. You are not jumping into a lake that is below 70 and going this is a friggen hot tub. If your water comes out of your shower at 70 degrees it is a cold shower. This is not even a luke warm shower.

I will say that yes this is probably a problem and should be regulated before it gets worse, but you could actually get blue lips from getting too cold in 70 degree water while you need to watch your time in a hot tub because you can get too hot, something that would never happen in water below 70. People need to stop exaggerating on both sides, and yes I do know toxic algea blooms do happen at the levels they are worried about.

There isn't one. Getting into BitCoin is like buying Beanie Babies as a retirement investment. Unless you're prepared to flip the stuff to cash the moment you make a profit, you're better off avoiding it entirely. The Chinese are starting to crackdown, and that's hammering the market. Not to mention that mining is hugely detrimental to the environment, so expect to see more folks cracking down on it because the goddamned planet's on fire and the last thing we need are a bunch of asshats producing solved sudokus that you can exchange for heroin.

Don't get my past criticism wrong, this is the reality of it. You do not need to exaggerate to get that last line which ends up being what it is about. The real purpose of things like bitcoin is to have the anonymous nature of cash while having the convenience of digital currency. As a person who's purchases abide by the laws my bank account works just fine across the world given modern banking methods. It is just that they keep receipts which they readily share with the government. If the government wants to know I bought a furry sexbot named maurice from some hong kong sex shop then sure. I might be buying some furry anime porn you might want to look at too. Really, just allow me to buy some cocaine and pure DXM too and I will ride my fucking couch until the cowgirls come home to the harem in my head.

I do not need bitcoin, I just need the man to get his cockblocking out of my should be legal kinks.
