uhm ... what is the issue here? is someone saying a VP isn't doing their job or are they demanding Congress tell VPs how to do their job? and what does either have to do with the internet? If Facebook is not doing what it is, by law, supposed to be doing, the answer is for Facebook to comply with the law, not change the law to comply with Facebook.
No need for a facepalm. I'm asking a serious question because what is written in that tweet doesn't seem to make sense to me.
There's absolutely a need for a facepalm. FB is using the Trump excuse and saying that a person who turned over literally thousands of pages of documents to the Feds about wrongdoing at FB was a low-level flunky at FB who has no idea of what they're talking about. You know, just like how Trump would claim that someone who was intimately involved with his campaign was someone he'd never met and was at best a "coffee boy." There's been several posts in this thread talking about the whistleblower already.
I find it suspicous that Facebook is launching this campaign to get Congress to regulate the internet. It seems to me that they are making this push to make the regulations favor them and them only.
Does that mean you think I did know the meaning of the tweet, but am being obtuse? I'm flattered, but no, I really am that dense. The tweet did not make sense to me. I've read that tween 5 times now. And, while I agree with your point, I don't see that in the tweet. But, I accept your explanation. Why was that difficult?
If it didn't make sense to you, then I suggest that you seek professional help. Have you read anything in this thread? Because if you had, then that tweet should have made sense to you.
I don't know if it has anything to do with the Whistleblower's claims, but Facebook has been absolutely hammering me with anti-vax/anti-mask stuff lately for some reason.
I do not really mind the algorithm's influence on my social medias accounts, but considering what it pushes I really wish it was not there for other people. Maybe ads should be applied neutrally instead of pushing algorithms.
Since the outage, FB is really fucking up the "People You May Know" suggestions - I have NO idea why it thinks I'm likely to know these people... no mutual friends, no shared workplaces...
Yea, I've also been getting a lot of pro-trump stuff and extreme right wing 'suggestions'. I'm not even close to moderate, let alone slightly right wing. Why they would think I would be interested in that nonsense is beyond me.
Same here. Zero mutual connections/interests at all. And it seems to have started since it came back online Monday.
You laugh but ~8 years ago my buddy was working for the Gates Foundation (largest charity in the world) not that long after they moved into their DT headquarters. As they ramped up he noticed that their connection speeds weren’t what they should have been. It wasn’t horrible, and was reliable, but just… slower than it should have been. Digging into it all traffic for the entire headquarters was being routed through a server in Gates’ basement.
