Again, the author of the bill, when asked a question specifically about Nazism said that taking a position on it was going too far and teachers need to be impartial.

Then a week after criticism tried to walk it back with some waffle about how it's not bad to talk about historical cases, just not the present day. So it's totally fine for a teacher to say that Nazis were bad in the 1940s, but if a student mentions people holding those exact same beliefs in the present day they're meant to not take a position and be impartial.

Then the question becomes whether it actually is "those exact same beliefs," or if they are just using the obvious go-to they think will immunize them against criticism when they shit on someone for not reading from their script.

This is also a perfect demonstration of ‘Arguing in Bad Faith’. Because they never actually cared if the law banned teachers from teaching that the Nazis were bad (maybe they don’t actually believe the Nazis were bad but just know it is socially unacceptable to say so?). They were just (willfully?) ignorant of the reality. As such once it was proven that their favored laws did in fact ban teachers from teaching that Nazis were bad did they even acknowledge their error? Much less even reconsider their position in light of this new knowledge?

No. They completely ignored their prior position and immediately pivoted to another defensive position.

Because all this is about is pushing back against ‘the libs’. And if the libs think teaching that Nazis were bad is right, then they now believe that teaching that Nazis were bad is wrong.

I've seen many a slippery slope argument in my life, but it's rare you have one that envisions the slope like a fucking loop the loop.
