Nothing you'd bat an eyelid at. Restrooms. Sports. Not being equal to others.

The thought occurs that a lot of anti-trans men are likely VERY supportive of their GFs getting breast enhancements because "they've never felt comfortable with their cup size and it was affecting their self-esteem".

And here's where the Don't Say Gay bill was aimed, even if it had to withdraw some of the more obvious fucking hate to get passed, but they'll try again:

Oh so nothing a rational person would object to. It’s only “anti-trans” because leftist talking points say it is. Just like the “Don’t say gay” bill that doesn’t even have the word gay anywhere in the bill. Dicky will facepalm this post.

It's anti-trans because it's discriminatory against trans kids.

Do you remember the old saying "it's not whether you win or lose, it's how you play the game"? Kids should be able to play the fucking game.

Since when was sport not about winning regardless of what it takes.

I read books in the weight room. So long as I dressed for PE I got an A.

I feel giving up wrestling is a fair trade to being accepted as trans otherwise. Problem is it doesn't stop there.

I'm reminded of Gregory's Girl. There's more to life than kicking balls.

If it doesn't stop there, where does it go?

You can try to win, still lose, and not be a dick about it to the person who beat you.

Next they'll be disallowed from auto-shop.

My introverted goth self says sport is all about being a dick and repressing it to seem sportsmen like. It sure isn't about the agony of defeat.

Okay, a 110 lb 19 year old girl can play in the NFL since there’s no difference.

There's a difference between high school sports and the NFL, though...?

I'm not sure what point you're trying to make.

I too am so progressive that I'd like to see hundreds of thousands of women athletes denied the right to compete.

Well, as Mburtonk said, it's not about win or lose, it's how you play the game.

Except when there's scholarships and pay involved, then it's very much whether you win or lose.

And getting rid of gendered sports for the fraction of 1% of trans athletes would then get rid of opportunities for hundreds of thousands of women.

But that's the primrose path you were trying to lead the other gent down, so I stepped in. :D

I'm still on the fence about it - it's possible that given the right situation that you could allow transathletes to compete if they didn't have advantages. And I think a lot of that has to do with when/if they go on hormone blockers.

But there does some to be some smoke as to those who haven't been on said blockers having an advantage in women's sports.

If it comes down to violating rights, we should probably choose the smallest amount of harm.

    Agree on the last paragraph.

I really don't care about the rest and think transgendered people should find a better way to spend their time.

For whatever reason, they like playing sports. What say should you have over it?

I don't know. That smack's me of 'they have their own fountain.' If all other things were equal I'd be happy for them if they could compete. Lots of people gain positive experiences through sport, and it's sure a great way to stay healthy. But the first part is important. I don't want to deny anyone their rights for equality. Clearly there are women that feel that that is being denied to them right now. Until then I'll keep an open mind, I do think the issue will go away over time as more trans people are cared for from youth on up and have access to appropriate counseling and health care.

Isn't that the way sexes are treated now ("own fountain")?

Why should transexuals be treated any differently?

Go birding. Take a hike. Swim because you like to. Run whenever and wherever you want. Leave physical competition to the morons.

Just because you like athletics doesn't mean you are a moron. Several of our smartest kids in my high school played.

And no, I don't think it's the same as race discrimination. Women fought for the right to have their own sports, so they could express that aspect of their own nature without facing unfair competition.

The problem is all of these 'there is no sex, only gender' advocates miss the point entirely - yes, there are sexual differences, and yes, some of them are important.

Again, if it turns out that hormone blockers pre-puberty help trans people transition and doesn't give them the advantage of a decade of testosterone in their systems, great.

But I'm not sure what your stake on this is if your only take is 'sports are dumb.'
