https://trekmovie.com/2022/10/14/st...ova-game-launches-resurgence-delayed-to-2023/ Prodigy video game released.
I just finished the episode and yes the music was definitely a nod to the Star Trek 09 theme. The underwater scene was both reminiscent of ID and TVH, what with the space whales and all. Janeway is a badass in her own right.
Didn’t expect a Borg episode. I don’t like how the Borg are defeated with the power of friendship, but it is a kids show so I get the message.
I imagine nanoprobes aren't all that useful for assimilating an energy being, so I guess the collective would have to resort to brainwashing or hypnosis or some sort of mental conditioning to convert them.
That would be a good way to explain why Guinan has issues with Q. If Q were somehow manipulated by the Borg to destroy her planet then she would have good reason to not trust him. It also would give Q a good reason to warn Picard. That's if Q could be manipulated by the Borg in the first place.
Fan theory that Zero woke up the Borg, and the ship from "Let Sleeping Borg Lie" is "the artifact" from Picard. https://trekmovie.com/2022/11/06/da...s-the-borg-from-voyager-to-picard-and-beyond/
All the World's a Stage... For most of the episode. And Murf! I'm perfectly okay with the entire crew of the Protostar ending up dead as long as Murf is okay.
Wow, that was a very cute episodes that I legit laughed out loud at! What a charming nod to fandom culture!
You're only comparing them because they're animated. They're very different shows. (Both of which are excellent, BTW.)
Indeed, they are catering to two entirely different audiences. You may as well compare The Simpsons to SpongeBob SquarePants That said, Prodigy is a great introduction to Trek for the demography it's going for.
I'm comparing them because of the nominal target audience (age/maturity wise) Obviously the have and intend to have a different sensibility. Both do what they do well. My claim is that what wants to do - and is doing - is more satisfying and substantial than what LD wants to/is doing
Next one up is Okona. https://trekmovie.com/2022/11/14/se...ous-in-first-images-and-clip-from-crossroads/
I was going to say "as long as it was the better Xindi and not the insecoids or whatever but then it occurred to me - I'd love to see Prodigy include some of the alien races we saw on TAS. I know lower decks has done some of this but a race like that bird man or Arex's people, or whatever - in a serious, not stunt, role in an episode would be cool
