And if they don't find one, season 2 just sits on a shelf.
    :sigh:

    Can't argue.

That sucks. Prodigy honestly was my favorite of the current shows.

I want to like SNW, and initially loved it, but we are getting back to the 'lets just ignore all the source material' that they so love to do.

The first season ran on Nickelodeon. I imagine that's the minimum outcome if some streamer doesn't pick it up. My big question is - if they sell it to, for example, Hulu - will the purchasing company gain the rights to order more seasons?

I'm sure that since a couple of folks on How Did This Get Made are regulars on Prodigy, they'll tell you on upcoming episodes what can be done to save the show.

meh-I like it better than I thought I would've, but I won't particularly miss it.

They could've called it ST: Mary Sue for all that one of them can always Wesley the plot.

Come to think of it, that's pretty much why we hated on him so bad-because he was a "prodigy". Now we have a ship full of them.

While it's a show that people of all ages can enjoy, the target audience is children, and I don't think it's a bad thing at all to teach kids that everyone has something to contribute and that anyone can save the day in the right circumstances. :clyde:

I can't say I'm sad it's ending but the idea of removing it off P+ without at least releasing the second half of the show to Blu-Ray is astonishingly stupid to say the least.

Meanwhile P+ has all forty+ seasons of goddamn Survivor available, yet some seasons of ongoing CBS shows are missing entirely.

Dunno WTF is going on but whoever buys Trek when Paramount shits bricks for good, I just hope it's not Warner or Disney.

Paramount executives have been shortsighted at least through the 90s. The ex worked for a company that mass produced and distributed VHS and DVDs of movies for every studio. When that company tried to sell, Paramount repeatedly fucked up every deal that company made until if finally had to just go out of business.

Paramount as a company have always appeared to have been about as agile as Robert Myer Burnett. They always seem a step or two behind.

Take Sony, for example. Rather than get bogged down in a war they were unlikely to win, they became an arms dealer. Paramount just haplessly jumped into the Streaming Wars thinking it was a license to print money. Back in the day, UPN failed (different times, I know - but thought I'd stick the knife in), they failed with CBS All Access. Paramount+ ? Probably another fail, eventually. Cripes, they can't even keep all of Star Trek on "The Home of all Star Trek". Down here in NZ, Paramount+ was due to roll out before they cancelled a couple of weeks prior to launch without explanation. Now, Trek is spread across 4 different platforms (local free-to-air for Disco and SNW, Amazon for PIC and LD, Netflix for everything TOS -> ENT and Sky Nickelodeon for PRO). Ironically, I don't even have to specifically pay for a platform I wouldn't otherwise use like many who sub to Paramount+ just for Trek.

    They're hopeless.

And this morning P+ just increased prices by $2 a month (but they throw in free Showtime!).

Star Trek.com has a clip of season 2 episode 1.
    https://www.startrek.com/videos/star-trek-prodigy-season-2-first-look

Plays like molasses for me; they're memory-greedy and won't let you dummy resolution; maybe you can do better.

Anyway!! The new ship is indeed Voyager-A, and Picardo is back as Holodoc.
Voyager-A has a crew of 800+ so it's bigger than Voyager, but smaller than Ent-D.

Well, even if it gets cut off at 2 seasons, it'll have double the episode count of TAS.
