I have a friend that was born with a cleft lip, they had surgery performed on them as a baby. It wouldn't have killed them to wait until they were 18, but it would likely have been damaging for their mental health to walk around like that. Where was your outrage then?

Minors have knee surgery regularly. They won't die if they wait until they're 18, but those surgeries happen regularly in the hopes of improving their quality of life. Where was your outrage then?

You know there's a whole bunch of states where minors are allowed to have sex as young as 13 and 14 so long as it's with someone fairly close to their own age, right? And a whole bunch of states where minors are allowed to have sex as young as 16 with anyone of any age, with no restriction on whether or not that person is in a position of authority over them? Where's your outrage over that? Where's your principled analysis concluding that trans kids in Ohio should be legally allowed to consent to surgeries at the age of 13 since their classmates are legally allowed to fuck each other all they want at the same age? Or should they have to wait until they're 16, and have surgery while their classmates are legally fucking anyone they want to so long as their partner isn't in a position of authority over them?
