Luke Wilson will be Mobius from Loki in Deadpool 3. So, the TVA will be the mechanism for the crossover. Well, Deadpool fucked with time in the Deadpool 2 after credits. That would get their attention. https://www.darkhorizons.com/star-wars-indy-deadpool-3-rumors/
I tend to think that Disney would prefer to buy the rest of Hulu and fold it into D+ rather than sell the rest of its stake to Comcast or someone. Its current strategy is to hype bundling D+ and Hulu, so turning around and saying "JK, these are two great tastes that taste great separately" doesn't make much sense to me. I tend to think that it would not make sense to agree to sell its (rough guess based on what is linked in the article) $12-18 billion stake in Hulu and to throw in that it is going to be free to make whatever Hulk/Namor movies it likes without interference from Universal. When has Disney spun off companies/IP rather than tried to acquire them? The other factor is that there is a pretty full slate of Marvel movies for the next 3 years or so. While a WW Hulk movie or a Future Imperfect movie would be great and there's no shortage of other great Hulk stories to tell, when would be the soonest they could try for such a movie? Phase 7? As a side note, I was under the impression that Namor's rights would have been part of the FF package of characters and that having absorbed Fox, nothing would stop Disney from a Namor movie if they want to do one.
Looks like Kang might be in a bit of trouble. https://www.nydailynews.com/new-yor...0230326-lmcyof6j4rb3jf2x4szgnv7vsm-story.html
Majors' lawyer says the accuser has already recanted, that she made the accusations while in "emotional crisis," that there's video of the incident and two witness statements that corroborate Majors' innocence. Which could be lies/exaggerations, or could be true or somewhere in between. Seems to me that the lawyer has gone way beyond the standard "My client is innocent but no further comment at this time." And that if any of her assertions are proven wrong, it's not going to be a good time for her or Majors. We'll see. https://deadline.com/2023/03/jonath...ropped-imminently-alleged-assault-1235310305/
NY Daily News doesn't allow non-US viewers. If you force me to use a VPN to get what you could have just quoted, I will drown you in maple syrup and no bacon.
At this point, the basic story is out across various media outlets, but here's the text of the NYDN story: Here is what Deadline reported:
Thanks - I had actually seen that but UK media reported it under his Creed role, which I would put secondary to the MCU one, hence I didn't pick up it was the same guy.
Liv Tyler is finally coming back as Betty Ross in Captain America 4. Leader, Thunderbolt Ross, Betty Ross, sounds like Cap 4 is backdoor Hulk 2. Well, Ragnarok was backdoor Hulk 2, so we're up to Hulk 3. Hell, Hulk 4 if you head-canon Ang Lee Hulk. https://www.darkhorizons.com/liv-tyler-returns-for-captain-america-4/
Blind Al & Dopinder are coming back for Deadpool 3. https://www.darkhorizons.com/dopinder-blind-al-back-in-deadpool-3/
Trailer for "The Marvels" might drop Tuesday. https://www.darkhorizons.com/marvels-demeter-dune-trailer-talk/
That actually looks pretty good. I'm sure the haters will nitpick it apart, but I'm in. P.S. - I also didn't mind Ms. Marvel either, but for a six-episode series it sure did drag in a lot of parts. Seemed to be more about the Partition of India than any superhero origin story.
Things at the moment are looking bad for Majors. Evidently several more women have come forward to claim a pattern of abuse. His agent dropped him. His publicist dropped him. He's been dropped from two productions, the movie The Man in My Basement and a recurring role on a TV series about Otis Redding. He is still attached to Marvel. He has been dropped in ad campaigns for the US Army and MLB. He's stepping down from the boards of two nonprofits, including the Sydney Poitier Initiative. https://variety.com/2023/film/news/...-cooperate-with-da-office-assault-1235588870/ https://deadline.com/2023/04/jonathan-majors-dropped-hollywood-manager-domestic-violence-1235325576/ https://www.vulture.com/article/jonathan-majors-dropped.html I personally really enjoyed him as Kang, but I wonder if at some point Marvel is going to have to reconsider the role.
Also of interest, if the MCU is forced to move on from Majors, who do they get to replace him as Kang? My favorite - John David Washington, from Tenet and Black Klansman. Plus you could get his father Denzel to do a cameo as an older version of the character. Other names I've heard be discussed, Aldis Hodges (he played Hawkman in Black Adam), and one insider said they would like someone like Damson Idris. Who of course is available, and has the advantage of being very much like Damson Idris. He's been the lead in Snowfall for 6 seasons on FX, was co-lead in Netflix's Outside the Wire with Anthony Mackie, and was just cast to costar with Brad Pitt in an Apple production about Formula One racing. He's definitely on the rise. Evidently Marvel themselves are making contingency plans and already have a short list, but are hoping they don't have to use it.
Happy Friday morning everybody! What are peoples' expectations of & for "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3"? Guardians 3 comes out 2 weeks from today.
Some are saying if Guardians doesn’t do well then that’s a sign Marvel is starting to crack. I personally look forward to it. I have zero interest in The Marvels.
A reminder for any newbies, she said there needs to be more diversity among movie critics. "That's it?". That's it. You'd think she ate a barbecued baby in front of nuns. Welcome to Wordforge.
