Huh...I wonder why these wacky indie voters have come to the conclusion that Republicans want abortion bans with no exceptions?
@Bailey is the one who thinks there should be no reasonable restrictions on bodily autonomy, but only in regards to abortion. He didn’t say that, but that’s the conclusion I came to because of the discussion we’ve had suggests that’s what he thinks.
No, you've won me over, it's entirely reasonable that you think you should get to make the decision on whether your neighbour can have an abortion.
And this is the childish response I've come to expect from you which is why I refuse to engage in your ridiculousness.
What more do you want? I've conceded that you are right and moral to force your views on abortion onto your neighbour and I'll even add that you are definitely a very principled libertarian. It's also nice and consistent that you seem to have moved to thinking that masking and vaccination laws are not a violation of individual rights.
I agree it is a childish and disingenuous premise @Bailey has been trying to put forth because we already make decisions for our neighbors that doesn't even involve abortion.
Texas federal Judge Matthew Kacsmaryk issued a ruling Friday on medication abortion drug mifepristone, saying he will suspend the US Food and Drug Administration’s two-decade-old approval of it. He is pausing his ruling for seven days so the federal government can appeal. https://www.cnn.com/2023/04/07/politics/read-texas-abortion-pill-mifepristone-ruling/index.html Complete and utter bullshit.
Why are you still going on about this? I've conceded that you are right and moral to force your views on abortion onto your neighbour and I'll even add that you are definitely a very principled libertarian. It's also nice and consistent that you seem to have moved to thinking that masking and vaccination laws are not a violation of individual rights.
But remember, folks, all conservatives want to do is return abortion law to the states! You're being hysterical if you think otherwise.

What's more, the Drug Companies have been giving huge contributions to the very politicians that appointed these judges. Leopards and faces time once again.

Any bets on when the first lawsuit to overturn the FDA's approval of Viagra gets filed, citing this case as precedent? (It might not be Viagra, because the plaintiffs did find an excuse -- albeit a completely bogus one -- for claiming the FDA didn't study it appropriately. But I'm sure right now there are multiple reproductive rights organizations looking through FDA files for similar situations and trying to identify the best one for a case.)
Ron DeSantis has just signed a 6 week abortion ban in Florida, as he continues his unofficial campaign for the R nomination.
FL has a "Resign to Run" law, which means if you're running for a different elected office than the one you currently hold, you have to resign your current one. So, unless he can convince his buddies in the state government to ignore that law when it comes to him, he's going to be in "stealth mode" until it looks like he's got a shot at snagging the nomination or he thinks his best chance will come in 2028.

You know you're talking about Republicans, right? I'm expecting DeSantis to literally shoot someone on 5th avenue just to show the GOP he can accomplish things Trump only promised, and the righties to jizz themselves over it and nominate him for Sainthood..

Lemme guess; all women, including daughters with incest-y dads, need to be packing heat; anything less is outright consent. How close am I?
