    There are a lot of different metaphorical rats. There are the sneaky rats, the scrappy rats, the clever boy rats, the vain rats, the rats looking for scraps, the narc rats, the self-interested rats (eg fleeing the sinking ship), the ratfuckers (as Roger Stone self-describes), the Ratatouille rats (really surprised we don’t see this one more, but it’s probably better applied to only one), the chittering rats, the hoarding rats, the rat king rats, the trapped rats, the fierce rats, the stupid enough to get trapped rats, the unable to vomit and thus extra susceptible to metaphorical poisoning rats, etc. Trump is often using “vermin in need of extermination” rats. That’s what’s not okay, particularly applied to ethnic or national groups.

    I think we need full context of what Trump was saying. Did he mean literal extermination as in gas chambers or did he mean we need to exterminate them via the ballot box as in vote them out?
