I assume the die has already been cast but I'd honestly like to see a real direct focus on, without any other major villain being key to the plot, the Harvey Dent/Two-Face story. Nolan didn't botch it but it's too good as a "Early Batman" street level story to take second place to another villain's story.
Comic book movies can be great because they're usually made with enough money to recreate the cooler images from the comics in live action, but at the same time the stories tend to default to the biggest villains and the simplest plotlines. If you want a live action Batman or Superman or Spiderman or whoever to have a proper rogues gallery and retell the best story arcs, that's best left to a television series.
I've always been of the opinion that Batman could be SO much better told in a premium TV format. The only issue being that basically none of those shows go for enough seasons to properly cover the whole arc of his key storyline (which, IMO, goes from Year One to a point where Nightwing and Red Hood are fully realized and Damien is integrated into his life. 10 seasons or more to do that well.
Same problem with X-Men. Phoenix Saga is a whole soap opera arc; the book is a phone book; movies just can't cut it. It has to be a show.
Well, shit. James Gunn just personally shot this one down. But, the kid who played Blue Beetle says he's coming back. They should just go ahead, and make him the new funny Justice Leaguer now that Ezra Miller's been given the boot.
Nathan Fillion will be Guy Gardener in the Green Lantern show as well as in "Superman Legacy". https://comicbookmovie.com/superman...ting-superman-legacy-update-a209314#gs.4vocwp

"Superman Legacy" is now just "Superman" and here's his S. The title thing is stupid. Now we're gonna have to call this one "Superman '24" to separate it from "Superman '78". There was nothing at all wrong with "Superman Legacy".
James Gunn says Peacekeeper season 1 happens in the old DCEU and Peacekeeper s2 happens in the new DCU after Superman reboots everything. Goddammit, James Gunn! This "have your cake and eat it too" shit is what fucked up comics! https://comicbookmovie.com/tv/dc/pe...man-will-lead-into-season-2-a209820#gs.5o4ehv
I get a gloomy feeling that James Gunn may be trying to boot out everything but his universe. I hope I'm wrong.
Our first glimpse of any character from Superman Legacy Superman. Maria Gabriela De Faria as The Engineer. She's got nanite powers, so she's basically a cross between Borg Queen and Terminatrix from T3. Or, a girl Brainiac. James Gunn's seems to deem it diabolically important to merge his DC-verse with The Authority-verse. I'm skeptical, but I'm willing to be surprised and wowed.
They're going ahead with a live-action Teen Titans movie. https://comicbookmovie.com/teen-tit...th-supergirl-woman-of-tomorrow-writer-a209914 So long as they brighten it up a bit. "Titans" was too dark. I mean, I like a dark comic movie/show. "Watchmen" is my jam, but Teen Titans isn't Watchmen. The animated shows were too cutesy in the other direction. Not that. Darker than those, brighter than "Titans". The 80's comics had the right balance of light and dark. Straining to think of a movie/show for comparison that I think sets the right tone..... "The Runaways". "New Mutants" tried to be "Freddy 3: Dream Warriors", and failed; "Runaways" tried and succeeded. Very underrated and forgotten. Give Teen Titans that flavor, you're golden.
Critics have seen a test screening of an unfinished version of Joker 2, and they dig it. They say Gaga's acting is right up there with Phoenix's and she's as central if not moreso. They say other familiar characters besides Joker and Harley pop up. The article takes it to mean other Arkham villains. They say the songs are "old and new". I take it to mean it's jukebox-y like "Moulin Rouge". Or, at least half jukebox-y. https://comicbookmovie.com/batman/j...ns-land---possible-spoilers-a209954#gs.6ml4fv
Shit, I put this in the wrong thread. Here it is again. A bogus lawsuit against Warner Brothers reveals Matt Reeves never intended to make the Ben Affleck Batman, and set out to make his "The Batman" from the get. https://comicbookmovie.com/batman/t...on-lack-of-gadgets-and-more-a210158#gs.75659e
Joker: Folie à Deux poster. Yep...that's really the title, and not a placeholder. No one is going to say that. They're going to say "Joker 2".
Well, this curious! Wonder Woman 1, and Shazam 1 and 2 are coming to Disney+. Apparently, the licensing rights just lined up the right way like a rare equinox. So, how come this can be a thing, but Avengers vs Justice League is like trying to turn lead into gold? https://www.darkhorizons.com/three-dceu-films-coming-to-disney/
