I'm hoping we get this scene in the F4 movie.

Okay, a lot of the choices in this work (David Bowie as Loki? Yup.), while others of them don't (Tom Cruise as Captain America? Nope.).

But for me, it really hits home the idea that the reason so many of the Marvel movies have worked has been because of the casting. Clint Eastwood as Nick Fury, sure that works. Is it better than Samuel L. Jackson?

McDonald's new happy meal toys are spoiling the hell out of Captain America 4, since the movie got delayed but the toys didn't. :marathon:

Those AI images were awful. Denzel Washington? Michael Douglas? Mark Hamill? They looked nothing like the actors.

Rumor: Secret Wars will finally address the "No Way Home" after credits of Venom leaving a piece behind.

Well, easy way to confirm or debunk this one; see if Venom 3 and/or Spidey 4 do it.
If they both skip it, Secret Wars.

Secret Wars seems like an appropriate place to do it.
But I wonder if it's Jonathan Hickman Secret Wars or Jim Shooter Secret Wars. I'd prefer the latter, but I have a feeling is the former.

Plot rumor for Captain America 4: Tiamat, the dead Celestial at the end of "Eternals" (waves to WAB :diacanu:) is the source of the MCU's adamantium. The Japanese figure out how to turn it into metal first (Silver Samurai? Wink, wink) and they also figure out it can soak up gamma rays, which makes it a weapon against Hulks. So, The Leader steals Japan's supply, and that's where we come in.

Bob Iger's whittled Marvel down to 2 shows a year, and 2 movies a year.
This year is Deadpool & Wolverine only.
He doesn't say what the 2025 movies are, but 2026 will be Avengers 5 & 6.
One of the 2025 ones will have to be Captain America 4.
The other one must be Fantastic Four.

    Honestly, that's the best route.
When you throw that much stuff at the audience, they will miss stuff. And then when it's referenced elsewhere, they will be frustrated, and they will tune out. That's what happened, in part, with these past two phases.

Of course, the biggest issue is making good stories.

I hope they do a "Homecoming" and have that since we already got the origin in "Fantastic Four" and "Fan4stic" that the Four just exist, and we get going.

I tend to wish that were the case too, but I tend to doubt it.

On top of the general aversion to not spoonfeeding audiences and filmmakers wanting to flex on their predecessors' versions of the same old story, they seem to be going for some sort of sitch where they existed in a 60s-vibe sort of setting prior to catching up with the rest of the MCU.

They got some splaining to do about where the FF have been since 2008 if they aren't displaced in time and space, and why Reed and co. didn't help out with any of the MCU craziness that we've seen.

People are being ordered to do homework for X-Men '97, and they're doing it.
    They can re-watch FF '05.
Hell, FX is rotating it as we speak.

I think the target audience for something like X-Men 97 is different from the target audience for a big screen picture. X-Men 97 has chosen not just to get invested X-Men fans, but people who are fans of the version of the cartoon that ran from 92-96. They were not particularly looking for non-comic fans or to make 2x their budget in sales. And also, there's not much that you need to have watched that specific series for. If you've seen X-Men generally, you know there are good guy mutants led by psychic Charles Xavier who believes in peaceful co-existence, and bad-ish guy mutants lead by Magneto, who believes in mutant superiority/carving out mutant rights through violence; and humans in the middle with their mutant-killing machines.

By contrast, the suits behind FF are going to want every normie eyeball and dollar they can get. To achieve that goal, they're going to be too cowardly to just say "Hey, there's a guy who's smart and stretchy, a guy who's strong and depressed about his appearance, a girl who can turn invisible and who can create forcefields, and a smartass guy who can fly and shoot fireballs. You don't need to know how they got to be this way. Just accept that they are this way and move on."

The suits behind The Incredibles were presumably not expecting that film to do the same $1 billion in box office that undoubtedly the suits behind FF are expecting out of that franchise.

They presumably were fine with the creatives doing whatever because the investment was less than $100 million, and there wasn't the built-in expectations that anything less than $300 million would be considered a flop.

By contrast, it would seem that the FF budget will be north of $200 million, and it will probably need to make back $500 million to not be considered a disappointment.
