Do we have the dates yet for when the US recession occured that FF insisted was coming/happening/had happened?
I am thinking he might get his recession early next year if Trump gets elected. Eventually there will be a recession and then he can take Trump type of credit for predicting it.
Compound inflation. That was a good laugh. Now for something anecdotal, I’ve noticed a few jobs I track had ranges between 100-125k before the pandemic. Four years on the range is now 120-160k. So if you think about it, the low end didn’t quite keep up with inflation but the high end is doing quite well. Isn’t that the type of economy the Republican Party loves? Rich get richer?
We’ve already gone over this. If it was another thread I don’t care. Inflation was higher in Q1 1984 than it was in Q1 2024. Also unemployment was higher in Q1 1984 vs. Q1 2024. The Fed has performed its job BETTER this time around.
They still haven’t reached their goal of 2% inflation and never mind the fact that our system of fractional reserve banking and going off the gold standard has led to the depreciation of the dollar, but that’s a whole other discussion.
Again - you’ve told people in this very thread that the mainstream media cannot be trusted and is being dishonest about information related to the economy And your rebuttal is…..showing me a clip of what mainstream media has to say? Make it make sense
So you wanna remove the Fed's independence and hike rates high enough to cause a quick and deep recession? Asking honestly.
No, you see raising the interest rates extra high will fix things by raising mortgage repayments and halting many investments because the money is more productive in bonds and savings accounts. This will fix the economy!
Yo @Steal Your Face - why should we trust that you say inflation is bad if you're using the mainstream media as your source?
By the way, the video I posted by Breaking Points, they're not mainstream media and they reported on inflation.
It’s not about us. We’re nobody to you. Words typed into an obscure social media website. It’s about you. If you want to convince us of anything; if you want to be taken seriously in any conversation; you need to start with a place where both sides agree, then prove your point. As for “pre-approved”, that’s a lie. As far as I know, you’ve never posted a link to a reputable news source. And no, I don’t consider MANBC or CNN any more reputable than FOX.
I would never look to FOX news for verification of anything. I might read an article or might even listen if it’s on the tv while sitting in the waiting are of the VA, but as with Facebook, you tube, or anything else, if the information is something that I wonder if it’s true, I go to google and find other articles or something that can provide some sort of convincing information. I guess, I’m just not as gullible as you since I never take any one thing at face value.
I agree with you on this point. Biden should be acknowledging inflation and blaming it on greedy corporations. That's the populist play.
You facepalmed my post, then post this. What is “covid spending’ and what is “the continuing government spending”?
It should be obvious, but the money the government spent during covid, the stimulus for example. They did this while not taking in revenue. The continuing government spending should be self explanatory, the government is spending something like 100 billion dollars every 100 days, that's not sustainable and will lead to more inflation.
