A Recession on the Way?

Every paycheck coming out of US corporate payroll absolutely had taxes pulled and sent to the IRS. Every purchase at any US grocery or department store or even Amazon had taxes added.

In fact, the ONLY revenue the US government has comes from taxes. So, I do not know where this statement is coming from. But, it isn’t based anywhere near reality.

Like utilities and paying the military and other government employees who couldn’t work from home?

Maybe. Are Republicans going to reduce spending? That would be ahistorical.

I wouldn't hold my breath, they'll probably move the money around to whatever pet project they want, likely for the military.

The spending exceeds the revenue coming in.

Well, it starts with covid. Major supply-chain disruptions lead to cascading shortages, which in turn screw up the supply/demand ratio and cause prices of everything from semiconductors to cardboard boxes to go up.

But yes, there is also plenty of evidence of companies going "Hmm, lots of people are talking about inflation ... which means we can jack up prices even when we don't need to and use that as an excuse!"

Not sure what it is you’re arguing here, but… businesses and corporations have accounts in place for just such “emergencies”. There isn’t any reason to increase prices to counteract shipping issues.
