Will the Native American woman survive and kill the Predator where all the men fail, despite being tremendously outgunned? Who can say? Sounds like there was a decision to dump this on the streaming platform rather than see it tank in theaters.
It can't be worse then the last one. The Predator was awful. I'm glad it didn't kill the franchise. I like the tie in to Predators 2 as well - this is could be where the Predator gets the flintlock pistol he throws to Harrigan at the end of that film. I'll definitely check it out.
I guess I will check it out, but given the history of predator I have to ask why? I got predator 1 and 2. The predator is hunting down hard targets with danger. This seems more like deer hunting for the predator. Worse yet it seems almost like a caged hunt given the technological advantage of the predator. Is this Donald Trump Jr the predator? If predators wasted an advanced tactical military team like arnold's in the first movie, and then hunted drug dealers, cops, and special government forces in the second one, how is it even a challenge? At least AvP made things interesting.
I can't wait to see this! Is what I would be saying if it looked like a good movie and I cared two shits about it.
That would be a cool crossover idea, have the predators invade Kronos. I am pretty sure that would be the most violent orgy ever.
Watched it. I enjoyed it, nice addition to the franchise. Naru is pretty bad ass. I did think that the design of the predator was too fast different from the other predators we've seen. Seeing more primitive predator weaponry was a interesting feature. Similar weapons, but less advanced. And some of the gun enthusiasts on here will notice that Naru funds a cartridge for a rifle. But the movie taking place in 1719, is at least 100 years before the first cartridge was invented.
I'm big enough to admit when I'm wrong. On paper, the concept sounded dull. And given the track record of the past few Predator films, there was a high probability that Prey would have sucked. But nope. Just saw it. Easily the best Predator film since the original. Beautifully filmed with a genuinely likeable and engaging main character. I'm wondering why 20th Century Studios decided to release this on streaming vs. theatres. Perhaps they also thought the concept may throw audiences off?
Just watched it. It exceeded my expectations quite a bit. Best Predator movie since the original. I used to listen to Dan Trachtenberg’s Totally Rad Show podcast when he was an aspiring director. It’s good to see him thriving doing what he loves. 20the Century could’ve easily grossed $250 M if they’d had the balls to makes this a theatrical release.
I liked it. I like the actress quite a bit. I've always had a thing for Native American girls. I like that the Predator had less advanced tech than the one in the first movie. I also liked the overall look. The historical accuracy was pretty good as well because French trappers would have been about the only contact the Comanche would have had with white people. It's also around that time the Sioux would have started taking territory. Overall, decent movie. I'm not sure I would see it in theaters.
