Do. Not. Fuck. With. Old. Ladies. Witnesses: Elderly Asian Woman Beats Up Man Attacking Her In San Francisco She sent the motherfucker to the hospital.
I guess I've been oblivious to this trend. I, obviously, was aware of discrimination in the 19th Century, but wasn't aware of any new trends. Likely because our local Asian population is so low.
It's really an old trend. Goes back to when Chinese laborers were recruited to build the railroads and forbidden to bring their families to the U.S.
"Police were holding her back"... If I was one of the cops, I'd be all "Oops, slippery old lady, she keeps getting away from me and hitting him with her board".
I'd also not only make sure that my bodycam was on, but I'd also see to it that the video was "accidentally" leaked to the interwebs. That way, when the fuckstick was trying to boast about anything for the rest of his life, someone would invariably pipe up with, "Aren't you the guy who got his ass beat by a little old lady? WTF should we listen to you?"
So Gold Spa is also across the street from the Aroma Therapy Spa, which is the third location that he shot people at. My work took me just down the street from there today. The area is known as Buckhead, one of the suburbs of Atlanta. This shooting spree, with the two massage parlors that I named above, makes a total of around 20-22 people that have been shot in the Atlanta area. All the shootings have been in areas that I've been by or at in the last three or four weeks for work.
Steve 2^4 works in midtown and they have had their share of broad daylight shootings there recently. Motherfuckers goin' crazy up in Hotlanta! Y'all stay safe and watch your six. That said the Augusta area is having a lot more killings on the "good side" of the tracks in the newer, nicer suburbs these days.
As I said, I'm aware of the discrimination in the 19th Century. I was not aware that it had continued past the 1960's.
In the early 90s, I worked with a bunch of Laotian refugees. Our employer, Waldenbooks, treated them like shit because they weren't white/Americans. Before they fled Laos, they were doctors, military generals, and ambassadors, to give but a few careers they'd had before having to flee. When one of them caught a supervisor alone in the bathroom and beat the shit out of him, all of us rank-and-file employees cheered. Also, none of us saw anything.
The first time I dated an Chinese woman I joked about anti-Asian racism because I thought it was a thing of the past. She very quickly and angrily explained that it was not.
While things like stereotyping and racist jokes have continued, violence against Asian-Americans seems to come in waves rather than a consistent tide. In the late '70s and early '80s, there was a surge in areas dominated by auto manufacturing, including a Chinese man being beaten to death by two white autoworkers near Detroit. There has been another resurgence in the past year, no doubt egged on by Trump and his followers using phrases like "Kung Flu" and "Wu Flu" for Coronavirus.
I am not sure why there is a debate with little kid neck beard. Just toss the hate crime on there. He terminated 8 people, most of which were asian, while targeting asian businesses. He should never get out of jail just because he terminated 8 lives. For whatever good it does to recognize this was clearly racially motivate, because you do not kill 6 out of 8 people who are asian without trying to kill asians. It is hard to go on a killing spree and kill that ratio of asians randomly or without trying. Argue the hate crime thing in a case where it matters and might not be an issue. Throw two hate crimes in there as he obviously also was killing women because he felt they were harming him by making him horny. He even admits to that one. Let us call it a hate crime, stop the argument, and toss him into the hole he will be in for the rest of his life. There are plenty of better people to care about. And will some cop actually hold neckbeard down and shave that scraggly fucking thing off? Use a straight razor, and if you slip nothing of value will be lost.
Saw that story. I am not prone to praising violence, but it did my heart good to read what she did. Some violence is unfortunately justified, and if ever anyone deserved to be beaten up, it was a scum like him.
if you can prove a "hate crime" it adds six months to a year to the sentence. So if you're getting life in prison, hate crime charges are moot. If you get a twenty year sentence it's still a small fraction added to your sentence.
about that Asian massage parlor/sex connection: "Numerous studies exist on the sex industry in the United States today, an industry that spans multiple cities, from Las Vegas and San Francisco to New York and Atlanta. According to a massive 2014 study by the Urban Institute, Atlanta is home to the largest underground sex trade. Asian American women make up a big part of that business as high-end escorts, call girls, and workers in bars and karaoke lounges, in massage parlors, and on the streets. In fact, in Atlanta, the underground sex economy is bigger than both the guns and drug economy." Let that last sentence sink in. Anybody living in Georgia knows the deal about the massage parlor sex. Granted most customers just get a legit massage, and not all massage workers offer sexual services. Often the owner has "plausible deniability" by not know what happens behind closed doors. They bust these places quite often here in Georgia with undercover GBI or local cops, and it's a wrist slap in some cases. If a parlor gets shut down another one opens. My philosophy is exploiting workers if wrong, but if you stop the demand it can nip it in the bud. - but stopping that demand might be just a tad difficult. How the history of spas and sex work fits into the conversation about the Atlanta shootings (msn.com)
But it sends a message to the victims' ethnic group: The US justice system recognizes that you are being targeted just because of who you are, and condemns that kind of actions. It's only a technicality, but sometimes technicalities communicate something meaningful.
So why the fuck do you care if they add some? I assume you are arguing against it. If it makes no difference throw it on there.
And it appears that at least one of the places dude shot up was a legit massage parlor, and not a rub and tug.
Yeah, I think he was going on a suburban myth. Definitely targeting asians. Hope he goes to prison and gets buggered for the rest of his life.
I am pretty sure if he got his tug, so to speak, he would have been satisfied and not shot the place up. It sounds like he expected a happy ending and was denied causing him to seek revenge on those who were not willing to give him his entitlement. Or it could be the god issue too as we have seen that in the past. He might have viewed them as evil sex slaves because of the urban myth. I am just for a good flushing of mr. neck beard. I am really glad I do not have to have his name burned into my brain like dylan roof. I am really just thinking he should be referred to as neck beard from here on out in all media and court cases. No more name for him, he would only make it dirty.
Asian folk have been pointing out the potential for white violence against Asians for at least the last year, ever since the "China flu" or variant thereof was popularized by a certain ex-president. Others have made comments about the longer history of anti-Asian sentiment in the US, although I was fairly oblivious about that as well.
