What do you recommend for the PC? I'm running a Athlon 64 3200 w/ a 128MB graphics card and adequate HD storage (though RAM is a little short at 512MB). Ready, go!
First Person Shooters are always good. So are sims, (not The Sims becuause it bores me) and driving games to a point...I get tired of racing.
If it's games you want to know about, you have the requirements for either Gothic 3, a scene set thousands of years ago, you are battling evil ( very cool ), or Oblivion (elderschrolls) you are also battling evil, but of a different type. An endless world w/ as many addons as you can play. You choose your destiny w/ every move you make. Both are considered top of thr line RPG's, the graphics are second to none!
Unreal tournament 2004 would run well on your system and it's still played by loads of people, FPS and you get to drive cars and fly stuff it's an online game thro.
You say a 128meg graphics card, but that isn't overly descriptive. Shared memory? Do you know any more details on your system specs?
Girlfriend out of town for a month - video games should be the last thing on your mind. If it's only a month you have, you might try picking up one of the newer Tomb Raiders. I have Legend but Anniversary is also out. (I think). I also like the Half-Life series, although I never played through it. Only bought it for Counterstrike.
If you want his labtop to catch fire that is. Civilization IV should run on your computer if you're into that type of game and I'd recommend Battlefield 1942 and it's popular mods.
Legend and Anniversary will probably run like molasses in January on his system. I've got similar specs (well, actually more RAM), and it was unplayable on mine. Half-Life runs like a dream, though.
I just bought HL2 at lunch along w/ some star wars game that was on sale...empire at war or some such. We'll see.
