Yes, because after Elwood found out I was the leak he posted an announcement reiterating his complete trust in my judgement and complete control of the board in his absence.
Well hell, I guess I'll address everything here as well as TK, but I'll be nicer about it here as this is my internet "Home Base". The extent of my "leak" was asking gul to back off of Elwood because of the CM/GE crap that he was stirring up. There was, and still might be, (Crap am I leaking again?) a thread in A51 where Elwood was discussing the possibility of hanging his hat, and personally I did not want to see that happen at the time. However it is pretty obvious now that he's apathetic to the whole thing...and whereas he was a great Owner when he took active interest; apathy would turn anyone into a horrible policy maker. I've always been one to call the other moderators out when they do something stupid and contributed when I thought policy would be damaging to the board (and when I was active enough to do so). I certainly haven't made any friends by it, nor did I expect to. As far as I was concerned my job as an "observer" in A51 was to tell TPTB when they were fucking up and why. Months ago one observation I made was that there were way too many people with access to A51, that you only get security by being thorough and by having security in depth...and that without such measures it is very likely that someone will "spill" something - even accidentally or unwittingly. If Elwood wants to hang his hat on me being the leak, that is certainly his perogative - though he certainly didn't discuss anything with me man to man, which frankly annoys the piss out of me...nobody on staff mentioned any of this to me, they condemned me behind closed doors simply because I'm not part of "Eliteforge" (where you can get away with revealing or threatening to reveal private info, we all now know...) However I want to rectify some mistruths... I've never sent gul emails from the board or frankly from any other email client...I have called him to arrange our meetup, but not since. I haven't deleted any PMs except when my mailbox was full, that hasn't happened since the last Diplomacy game as far as I can recall. I do think Tamar and Listy were pretty poor moderators, I'm glad that they're out, for whatever the reason. I think Elwood let things get to him too much over the whole GE/CM affair and if he needs to step back and let someone else run the show then he should...continued apathy isn't going to help the board in the long run. So, there you have it. This place has been my internet home for as long as its been around, and I don't want to see it turn into some version of TK (no offense to you trolls, I'm sure you like your house just as much as I like mine). I think if anyone bothers to look back, probably at least 5% of my posts are things that I think are important to the boards health...maybe not always phrased "nicely" and certainly rarely "tactfully" but they're there. Lastly I guess I'm most annoyed that much of the last few months of drama could have been avoided by action and openness by the moderators and TPTB, and a bit pissed that they've let the mantle drop so poorly.
Well to be honest my phrasing wasn't the best, I was worried that they thought I was the leak at the time, afterall I met gul hardly a month past and I am sure it was on their radar...whatever they should have discussed it with me. That's what happens when you have insular PTB who feel persecuted I guess. Of course, some of them deserved the persecution IMO.
How about this Tamar I think you should have been fired, or at least publically reprimanded for the last round of drama. And I don't think were a good Administrator even before that (and have said so before...) As far as I'm concerned it doesn't matter if you "stepped down", were allowed to "step down", or just decided you wanted to get back into the nitty gritty of real poster-bashing without having to worry about being a Moderator. Then what is the point of observers? If it's to get input from the members, do you not think we'll give it to you? Hello? Anyone home? What have people been doing? Maybe it's because the observers are just staff without pips.
According to Elwood in another thread, yes, as former admin 'in good standing' she does. So business as usual.
Since it is out in public, that is the whole extent of the leaks as was made known to the staff at large, however I assumed there was more that wasn't told because of privacy reasons.
Since nobody is denying that this is the extant of it, either here or at TK, you can draw your own conclusions. This looks like a really, really idiotic reason to go through such a performance as has been conducted so far.
Well it seems that those assumptions were wrong now and this very thread is ridiculous...and dare I say it, trolling.
Here's my one, real concern... If indeed there was an active leak from A51 with intent to damage the board and not just some wild accusations designed to cause Elwood and company trouble... Then he/she is still around. Take that for what its worth...
Well as I said, I assumed that there was more Elwood didn't tell us here because of privacy reasons, and Elwood doesn't post at TK so it's completely irrelevant what goes on over there.
