According to imdb.com, that's Maggie Gyllenhall taking over the role of Rachel Dawes...apparently Katie Holmes was too busy...
I really hope that's not a gun Batman is holding, but some sort of James Bond type contraption. If its a gun...
I also note that all the batsuits in the multiple Batman pics are the old suit as well, perhaps the multiple old Batman Begins batsuits are part of a Joker scheme?
What? All of the "multiple" Batmen in both of those pictures look to be wearing the equivalent of cheap, shitty Korean knockoffs. In the second one, you can even tell that the headpiece is more like a knitted affair pulled down way too far. The first has one of them looking like the chest piece is basically short stop garb.
So either we're having a nerdy batfans subplot, which we really don't need, or these are stunt doubles that only have to look good from a certain angle?
It wouldn't surprise me if there's a "double Batman" subplot by the Joker. After all, at night, you just need the shape of Batman . I just wanted to point out that they were nothing like the original - or any other - costume besides the basic shape.
[?=Spoiler About 'TheDarkKnight'] There is a minor subplot in the movie where several 'impostors' take on the Bat mantle and try to be crime fighters in their own regards. One of them is actually going to be played by Anthony Michael Hall, and his character will be named.. [/?]
Megatron - Where are you getting that info from? The plot details are a pretty well kept secret, I'd thought.
Yes and no. I agree completely as far as his ability for the vocal work, he made the role in the animated series, but I'm not entirely convinced of his acting ability in the character. I guess it is one of those things I'll have to see played out, perhaps Heath could pull it off, but in my mind the Joker on the screen will always be Jack. The interactions between the characters in the first movie were perfect, the constant bettering each other- I actually felt as though they were nemesis.
Mark does the manic/crazy bit pretty well in live action too. Check out his turn as the Trickster in the old Flash TV show, and his from Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back.
I just figured the extra batsuits was part of a joker plot, like in the old batman TV series where they had a fight scene with 6 batman imposters and 6 Mr. Freeze impostors to confuse things.
Any Bat-foe worth their salt should cotton to the fact that Bats is only one step away from being an ally of the police to being a fugitive (see TDKR after Gordon retires) and hit on the natural idea of blacking Bat's rep by having imposters go too far. Hell, there were folk on internet fora up in arms over Batman "becoming a murderer" due to the recent storyline where the Joker is shot in the head by a Bats impersonator - and they hadn't bothered to read the full story and found out that Bats himself wasn't responsible...
Look, the real concern is that from all the pictures it looks like the Joker is just some guy who slaps on a little make up. Do we all realize the Joker's entire body was stained white from a dip in a chemical vat? If this Joker is just a little face paint, I'm out. The Bat looks great, but please I hope the Joker is not just a little grease paint.
Anyone remember the scene in Batman when the joker was wearing flesh paint over white? Maybe these pics are from a scenario similar to that.
I;m not too concerned if he does just wear white paint. I mean, it doesn't seem to matter much. if the story is good, and Heath Ledger nails the persona, then I'll be happy. It isn't like they're destroying the character.
Or it could be he's got white paint on for part of the movie, but gets burned partway through the flick.
