So the answer to a rise in gun violence is to get more families to turn in their children? http://timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/uk/crime/article2317307.ece
My kid signed one of these...when he was 10 or so. Apparently I co-signed it. I think the school snuck it in among medical information forms and other paperwork. Sure enough, the school whipped it out 5 months later when my son misbehaved. It was so hard to keep from laughing.
But how can Britain be having problems with guns? They have some of the most stringent gun control laws in the western world!
A greater emphasis on indoctrination of the young against weapons violence would seem to be indicated. If that should work over there, it should surely work here, as well.
"God loves you as he loved Jacob" "Plant a good seed and you will joyfully gather fruit" "EVERYTHING CHANGES" "We are the causes of our own suffering" "THINK ABOUT" "YOUR LIFE"
At this point making guns freely available would no more fix the problem than making them completely illegal in the USA. Also, I notice that the USA still has rape, murder, muggings, fraud despite all of them being illegal. When will you learn that you can't control criminals and just give up with laws outlawing those things?
How about enforcing laws on the books instead of making more usless laws just to give people the illusion that the Government is doing something when it's not? Passing more bullshit laws ends up punishing the law abiders more than the criminals. My NSHO.
Rape, murder, muggings, and fraud are all actions which are wrong. How are guns, a mere object, wrong?
I'm not getting into the argument of whether or not gun laws are a good thing, just pointing out that the "hey, these things you have laws to try and prevent happening are still happening, therefore the laws are worthless" argument is misused in this case.
