Is this an accurate assessment of the current generation of black men? If so, how has it come to this? If not, why is Edwards claiming that it is?

Right now, the number of black males in college is 4 x the number of black males in prison.

Black America makes up only 11% of the countries population, but more than 47% of the national prison rate. The amount of African American women that have been incarcerated over the past ten years is more than three times what it was over a dacade ago..


Todays Generation of African Americans have more brroken homes than any other time in US History (including the days of Slavery). Over 70% of Black Americans homes are lead by Female Single parents


The males are being killed or incarcerated at such a rate that the women are finding it harder and harder to find suitable mates. This in turn will lead to them having fewer and fewer babies, which in turn will have a devastating effect on the Black population overall. By the year 2020, the Number of African Americans will have deceased to less than 1/2 of what it is right now, and by the year 2050, it will be gone altogether.

Most of my students (but for the last two years I can say ALL of my students) are black inner-city kids. The majority won't have a snowball's chance in hell of going to college. They don't want to learn. I'm beginning to think they lack grey matter. They are very lazy, but very talkative. Always running their mouths. Putting other people down. Have no desire to take care of things.

It's a sad picture I face everyday at school. I tell them, "you're heading down the wrong path," but they don't understand therefore it doesn't phase them one bit. Had one girl mention today "all white people are rich". Sad, sad, sad.

The great majority of folks who haven't been in those class rooms have no idea what it's like. out of the aprox 120 kids I had, about 90 were black. Intellectually, maybe half of them can be projected to be able to handle college (it's about the same for the whites) but socially, economicly, educationally...with the drive, desire and determination to do it?

I'd be stunned if more than 10 or 12 of them had a college degree by 25.

And it's not somethng you can pass a bill and fix.

Thing is, and this ought to bewhere Flashy comes in, it's fatherless homes that is driving this spiral and it is entirely possible that it's too late. some statistics show that 75% of African American births now are to single parent homes.
