I'm too lazy to PM everyone who may have been involved in this, so I'll say it here and you may lock it whenever you wish. I only occasionally jump into Help Desk to read and so missed it while it was happening. My asking a poster to use "Bon" if he chose to use my RL name was a personal preference of mine. My family and friends all use "Bon". I prefer it to Bonnie, although I answer to both, same as I prefer Ms. to Mrs., but don't get bent-out-of-shape if someone prefers the latter. Chacun à son goût. His refusing to do so, while rude (and expected, I suppose) is nothing to me. My real name is public and has been since I came online. If people think that they can get a rise out of me by using it or using it improperly, it will have as much effect as calling me T'Bitch, T'Cunt, T'what-the-hell-ever does. Doesn't ruffle me. Therefore nothing needed to be done and no drama needed. I got over someone misusing my name when I was in Kindergarten or First Grade and someone found a way to mock my last name. Then as now, most it does is bring a smile if I find it amusing. If it floats his boat to call me Bonnie, whatever. It's a pretty tame way of trying to get my goat and the most it does is make me shake my head over the folly of it. I can handle KIRK1ADM. No need for assistance, if he irks me enough to respond, I'll swat him myself.
