So I was looking around on Youtube for Roger Rabbit--specifically, the scene where Donald and Daffy duck are playing a piano duet that ends in disaster. I found the clip I was looking for, along with nearly five hundred posts that are about one particular line at around the :45 second mark. My clip, let me show you it Apparently, a few people want to swear up and down that the word "nigger" got past the censors. During PC-happy, liberal-ass 1988, no less. Yeah, I'm sure. The comments are pretty lulz-worthy: And here's one of the more sensible comments of the post: Good fucking grief. My family has owned that video for seventeen years now, and not one of us could understand a word Donald says past "Doggone" and I certainly didn't think to look for racial slurs. Not that I think there *is* one to be found, but I guess people just love stirring up shit where there is none to be stirred.
No we bloody can't. Where do you get off claiming something like that without any kind of argument, statistic or even an op-ed link to back you up? Of course there are things people wouldn't argue about, and every sane person knows this. Showing that controvery exists in one little place, even an unexpected place, does nothing to prove your point and only demonstrates how woefully unaware you are of basic verification and falsification strategies. Some things are just completely non-controversial, deal with it.
Did you read before responding, miss bitchtits? I linked the video because that's where the comments were, and it's the only title I can think of at 3 o'clock in the morning, you hormonal little queen. God, take a Midol.
Ha! There is nothing people wouldn't argue about, and every sane person knows this. Oh like you've got a degree in basic verification and falsificationolgy. Oh Yeah! Sez who?
Yes, but if a black cartoon character called him "nigger" then it would be okay? Oh wait...maybe he said "nigga". All in the context I guess. Regardless, he should morph into Dog the Bounty Hunter and issue a tearful apology.
Okay, listening to the clip, Donald could certianly have said the bad word, but you really can't tell. But Daffy didn't say "wise CRACKER." He said "Wise QUACKER." Get it? GET IT? HUH?! Duck? Quacker? It's a JOKE, son!
You're a good one to talk. I can't even post in a Civil War thread and state that the historical records paint a very different picture about the Old South from what is often frequently misperceived without you calling me a "slavery apologist". Just for the record: I haven't apologized for a damned thing.
Black people don't really get irony. It's a genetic thing. They have less of the irony gene. Just go the Africa or talk to anyone that has to work with them. Also, there were some studies. Why, I'll bet if a black person reads this reply, they totally won't get that I'm just being ironic.
Yeah, OK, but I still don't like Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson. And I'm not trading in my home and 6 acres of woods for a housing project. If I have to trade my Toyotas for Cadillacs, forget it! But, hey, I did marry a white woman.
Donald SAYS "Doggone stupid little". Not "Stubborn" Not "Nitwit" Not "Nigger" Geez, it's like you people never grew up watching Donald Duck cartoons...
