They can't even prove that their God exists. How are they going to prove that the Hindu Gods (or any other god for that matter) are demons, or that they even exist at all?
Anything not of God is of Satan even though God created Satan himself. During highschool I had a friend who was ultra religious and would often state rather proudly that Satan can not do anything without God's permission. So one day out of sheer curiosity, and without trying to be belligerent or sarcastic or facietious or anything like that, I asked him 'but doesn't that mean God is responsible for all evil?''' He never spoke to me again after that.
Interesting that you didn't start with the assertion that there are no such things as Hindu "gods" Also interesting that you are willing to take even a Baba thread seriously if it gives you a chance to take your predictable dig at Christianity. Dude, serious....we get it, okay? You don't believe...you think those who do are morons. You have more than covered the point. Get back to the subject when you have something original to say, m'kay?
Clearly this is a Hindu demon god. Though I can see how it might be mistaken for a Mortal Kombat character, a mutant smurfette or even an obscure Grateful Dead album cover.
What's even more interesting is that I think there's a grain of truth to most religions, either from a spiritual standpoint or "otherwordly" sources. We all have our hobbies. I don't think you're a moron for having spiritual beliefs. I think people are morons for following organized dogmatic religions who dictate to you how to live your life and who have been historically proven to be false. Plus they are extremely annoying with their habit of trying to impose their beliefs on the rest of us. How about this, through my experiences I believe that there are definitely spiritual energies interacting with the physical and some of them are non-human in nature. I also feel that most cultures have interpreted these spiritual forces differently and created religions around them. Of course these religions all have to make themselves superior to all others, so they label all other spirits not related to their own religion as "demons". It's a combination of fearing what you don't understand and macho dick waving by declaring your spirits superior to others.
What experiences are you referring to? And what makes your belief in this any less irrational than the beliefs of Christians?
I've had many personal physical experiences where something has interacted with me or people with me, and we've captured these incidents using modern equipment. I've been touched, heard my name called or heard other voices, and heard footsteps walking across a floor right in front of me when no one was there. I've captured voices on audio equipment and odd energies on video. I've heard tapping in an empty room that appeared to respond directly to verbal questions. I've never seen anything with my naked eye, but I've caught it with my equipment. I've also been with people who have seen things and it's really shaken them up. So I've collected enough evidence that tells me something real is going on. But what it could be remains unknown. I have theories, but until we can come up with a fool proof scientific method of detecting these energies, they will remain theories.
Surely, any explanation for the events is as likely to be true as any other explanation...? Thats always been my problem with things like that, people see, think, imagine things and then automatically blame them on something they are already predisposed to believe in. Surely that can never lead to truth...
BD - They'll remain "hypotheses", you mean. Theories are models that make predictions that can be tested.
Yhe subject offered for discussion is "hindu gods" Those ask to discuss it were "Christian Fundies" BD fails on both counts.
I tend to agree with this. Much better! and I tend to have a very similar view, believe it or not. See? That wasn't so hard, now was it?
