Holy shit. Is this incidental, just some nut job who happened to wander in, or is it politically motivated and specific to the campaign?

So you think Hillary is looking for attention too? Glad I'm not the only one. ;)

Apparently the hostage taker claimed to have a bomb and wanted to talk to the Senator.

Wow, really? :soma: I have a friend who lives in that town, I'll have to ask him if he has any details (assuming it's not my friend doing it :calli: ).

If I wasn't a 45 minute drive away I'd go check it out myself.

Seriously I've been waiting for the assassination attempt on Obama.

I guess this is progress of sorts

A mother and child was released and the guy with the bomb told her to call 911.

I guess he has two people in there with him. They say he is in his 40's and distraught.

That isn't great news...the upset ones tend to be more unstable. :(

Maybe he was trying to take out Hillary before she could have him taken out.

Get in the first strike and all.

Now this is the political operative in me speaking, but I know for a fact that in the other Democratic campaigns someone is thinking (and maybe even saying) "Damn, I wish it was in one of our offices. We really could use the free media. We could have gotten a ton of sympathy attention. I can't freakin' believe they went to Hillary's office."

Awful? Heartless? Absolutely. But that is how the game is played these days.

Obviously, I'm hoping for a peaceful resolution, being unaffiliated at this point.:evilpop:

I liked the report about how Hillary is doing all she can over this situation. I mean, what the fuck is she going to do, grab a rifle, kick in the front door, do some cool John Woo moves and then bust a cap in the dude's ass and finish it of my saying, "voter: disqualified."

Shit, I might actually vote for her if she did something like that.

    She cancelled a planned speech.

But aren't we supposed to not let terrorists keep us from going about our daily routines? :calli:

Maybe she cancelled her speech because she's on her way to NH to go all medieval on this dude?

    We can hope.

Is it too soon to put money on this being a disgruntled DNC voter who expected better results in the past year?

Remember to come back here when the details come out. I was right on the VT shooter/woman-drove-him-to-it prediction.

    CNN says it's over.

The guy was 'upset about the mental health situation in the United States.'

No shit! Talk about a self-fulfilling prophecy!

Analysis of the device he had strapped onto himself indicates that there was a serious threat that he might warn traffic for three hours or so if it had gone off.

So, it was just a fruity weasel with road flares?

Disrupted a whole town, and the nationwide news for 6 fucking hours with road flares?

Shovel beat him into a coma.
