I've always secretly admired those cars. The only thing that has stopped me from persuing one is the size. Maybe one day I'll buy one..and get a used mini van to do all my shopping in.
Bravo. Very feckin nice indeedy. It looks fantastic. That baby will be a treat to drive round the twisties
Nice job EP, looks great! Maybe you could add a few of those in progress shots so we can see just how much work you've done!
Shame it's a left hooker (you backward people can't help driving on the wrong side of the road ) but a marvelous job EP. I remember the pictures you showed of when it was just a shell. Lot o' love gone into that car.
I been asked to come to this one http://www.blountbritishcars.org/gathering.htm But I don't think I will be ready in time for that one. Its about 100 miles away if i take the parkway and then 441. My real plan is to make the spridget 50th anniversary gathering in Missouri but its 800 miles from here and one hell of a drive in a midget. I already have reservations there, still nervous though.
You should go. I'll bet you'll win a prize for sure. I have a 68 Chevy Camaro that I've been working on S-L-O-W-L-Y for over the past 11 years now trying to convert her from a dead grocery getter to an all out War Machine. Mechanically I'm all but finished with her. All I need now is to have her painted and she'll be ready to go!
I need to take some more pictures. I spent most of the day yesterday learning how to wetsand any imperfections on the clearcoat and now it is like a mirror and the nuclear yellow metallic paint really glows. It almost like a car made of gold when out in the sun. I can't believe how much difference that made. Now I am afraid to drive it anywhere, Kinda. I am still planning the big trip, although I might have to go alone if the wife refuses to go with me.
For all who are interested, I hope to put the midget on the road tomorrow. I will take some more pics and maybe a good movie for a you tube or something. It is definitely geared for the highway now. I put a 1971 tag on the car that was my grandfathers and took it for a test run. Its nice having that 5th gear and I think I will get killer gas mileage out of it. Man does that thing stick in the curves with the new firehawks.
Tis on the road. I took it up to 80. Had a lug nut problem and got that straight and I still need to rebalance the wheels and check the toe in but I am there. Whew!
Took the car for a nice ride today. My inlaws wer in town on wed and Thu and I finally shamed my wife into going for a short ride with me so my FIL could get a picture. I think it is a fun car, myself. People say they love the color. it doesn't show up well in the pictures but here is what the yellow looks like up close.
