Everybody points and laughs at Austria. No wonder.

But I think our boys will serve a surprise or two. Go Ivo!

I'm not too bothered about who wins, but I'm hoping the few Liverpool players involved with their national teams do well. Hence my tribute to the best striker in the tournament, as seen in my av. ;)

    Boooooo! Portugal win. Czechs too.

Pretty boring opening to the tournament, it should get a bit tastier on Monday when Italy take on Holland.

Ah come on. Those dancing boxes would have fit the opening of a local recycling center, and the rest seemed like a fallback on alpine clichées. You don't need a monstrous opening like for the Olympics, but they could have tried to look a little more hip.

As for the matches: Didn't see them, but as I thought. I don't like Portugal because Ronaldo is such an arrogant little man.

Today: Austria premieres against Croatia and Germany should roll over Poland with a few Panzer divisions ;)

Yeah, in the absence of England I too will be throwing my support behind the Dutch, if only to see Dirk Kuyt get a winners medal. :yes2:
I'd have him in my av instead but Torres is prettier. :D

Modric scored for Croatia, but that's all I bothered to see in an tournament of no particular interest.

My main bet was Portugal, but on Saturday morning I put on a sneaky wee fiver each way on Holland at 13/1.

Not looking too shabby now! ;)

I saw two games last weekend:

Portugal-Turkey: Very nice game. Somehow we were all for Portugal:P

Germany-Poland: We went to the stadium here for the public vewing. The screen wasn't as big as I was hoping for but it was big enough to show the two goles Podolsky shot. Now isn't that great? With a name like Podolsky to score against Poland? hehe. And he's not the only one with Polish roots. Klose also hase them. I wonder how he felt. At least he didn't cheer his heart out.

    Poldy, we love you:

Tonight is going to be interesting: Tukey-Switzerland. I hope the Swiss will let the motors of their getaway bus runing.

Right now it's Portugal vs. Czech Republic. Good match, alread 1:1 after 17 minutes. The Czechs were blocking a bit in the beginning, but when the 1:0 came they actually started playing and scored soon. The Portuguese goal was pretty lucky but the Czech's was brilliant, an unstoppable cannonball. Good times!

Greece vs. Sweden yesterday was a disgrace :dayton:

I would say Switzerland are going home, but as co-hosts they're already there... :soma:

At least there was no repeat of the last time they played Turkey... :calli:

Die beste Ausgangsposition, sich von hinten anzuschleichen.

H-9 to the most important game of the year: Germany vs Germany.

Zeit das sich was dreht! (Time for stuff to get rolling!) Das runde muss im eckige! (the round must go in the square!)

Edit: Oops, Germany isn't playing Austria until Monday... I read the plan (and your post Aurora)to quickly. But both are playing tonight! :D
