My opinion is that this is a real slap in the face to our grandparents.

The global warming crowd might find a silver lining though - trees cease to store much new carbon at about 55 years of age. As long as the cut trees are not burnt, new trees planted will reduce the carbon load, helping Barack lower the seas.

Yes, this is all about global warming. I'm glad you made that connection.

Can't say I'm too upset - trees don't last forever.

Similarly, there was a beech behind the house I grew up in, that Dad and his cousin had carved a lot of things on when they were kids. I used to enjoy especially the little cartoon airplane Dad carved, and how time had spread it and warped it. But when I visited the house the last time it went on the market, I was sad to see the tree had been cut down. But whatyagonnado? It was old.

bastards. However when it comes down to it, you can't just blame the French. It's more of the bureaucratic mindset with their jackass moves. Our bureaucrats would do the same thing with something here.

When we wind up freeing Europe from their new towlie overlords within the next 50 years, I'm sure we'll get a chance to carve some new names from a whole new generation.

Cut down the trees.....save the main lower trunk sections with the carvings, preserve them (chemically if neccessary) and put them in a museum. And the crowd goes wild....

Yep....fucking typical tunnel-vision no caring beaurocrats.

Well, now they can be donated to a museum and preserved.

In theory. Odds are they will be chopped because of the left hand not knowing what the right is doing.

Remember, if beaurocrats are involved, communication/teamwork stops altogether.
