Some Thoughts On The Rules...

But as the rules stand now, they are not.

What is off-limits right now is posting the personal information of posters who have not revealed said information on Wordforge. Margaret did this not once, but twice, both times flaunting the rule for reasons only Margaret knows. Cass did this as well.

They earned their bans by deliberately breaking the rules. One can only hope they have vanished for good.

If the Admin wants to change rules in the wake of this, to make attacks on family members off-limits, then so be it. But that doesn't relieve Margaret of Cass from the responsibility of their own breaking of the rules.

Nor is it reasonable for Margaret to insist that no one call her by her real name, for reasons I've already explained.

So you at least agree that if someone posted any personal information about someone (regardless of where the information was required) before this latest ruling, they should have been banned as per the rules at the time?

People actually did used to be warned for trolling family members here. Dunno whatever happened to that rule.

Edit: The stuff of Mewa's daughter and Mal Reynolds being the prime example.

So you want to ban Kirk for using Margaret's name, even though Margaret's name is common knowledge on this board because Margaret used it on a regular basis when she moderated the Green Room?

Understood. Of course God forbid people do the decent thing WITHOUT having to be compelled to do so by new rules.

I've no problems with the bans. They willing broke them.

Now regarding the using the real name, quite frankly, I don't care if someone is plastered on billboards all over town and on TV as I speak. If on a messageboard they have a handle, they should be able to be called just that.

Again, no rule mandates that, just common courtesy. Of course, that's in short supply, IRL and triple that for online.

Oh come on Bonz. You know every forum links to opinion pieces and blogs on the Internet to start discussions. And I for one am greatful that I didn't miss this little gem.

As far as discussing their sex life, I really don't know how much there was, but it doesn't seem like there was that much. I'm just not healthy enough to handle hearing about her/their sex life, so the magic scroll wheel did it's job when that came up.

TIMMY IS POINTING OUT A HOLE IN THE RULES.

He is not making assumptions about anything. He's not analyzing someone's personality and failing to understand it. He is simply saying "THE RULES SAY X, BUT Y HAPPENED."


That goes for anyone who's responded to Timmy and hasn't understood that he's just discussing the rules and NOT making shit up about people or making stupid assumptions.
