    oopsie.....

    Do I know you?

I have this mental image of Techman sitting in front of a lighted window, shades open, cleaning all the weapons into the wee hours, hoping for a sighting of anyone who dared to frighten me.

I'm having second thoughts on the motion lights because there are all kinds of critters (deer, 'coons, fox, coyotes, rabbits, skunks and the usual domesticated suspects) in the yards here. I will have a light of somekind though.

In the meantime, what I'm looking for is something short term and painful. Like the nails. Maybe piles of rose bush trimmings until I can get more planted.
Vats of acid, a 'gator moat, nests of rattlesnakes, cardboard cutout of nude Rosie O'Donnel.

I'd go with the motion sensing lights. The trigger is infrared. You adjust it so small animals don't trigger it. They're also nice for lighting the path when you arrive late and forgot to leave the lights on.

Alternatively, just have a couple well placed low voltage floods. Low voltage lights can be setup by anyone. The transformer plugs into a wall outlet (hopefully you have one outside the house). Some have light sensors to turn on at dusk and off either a preset number of hours later, or at dawn. Others have a timer. They don't use much electricity.

A low voltage set that runs 3 or 4 50watt floods will cost you under $300.00. Less if you want smaller lights.

Someone I know uses the motion sensor lights along with a used profile target taped to the front door.

He probably wanted to see how you killed the bad guy in the end of the second act. I know I had a hell of a time.

Did I get them confused? It's been a while since I played. The desert scene - somekind of snake? and Big D sounds familiar - I think that's the one I'm talking about.

I always play the Amazon, but have to find a really bad ass majic sword to go in there, cuz she doesn't have the strength for a regular sword and he's too fast for a bow.

Anti-raccoon sprinklers. Motion sensor sprinkers which aim at the motion. As a bonus, you'll drive off the raccoons too.

Realistically, can you borrow a big dog for a few days? Better than a long term committment, and it might do the trick...

still think poison ivy, poison oak, sumac, stuff like that ....
altho the cactus with the right sized prickly points will work as well and be a nice looking garden.
