Had a new knife death last night in the north part of my town.

It's starting to get really silly now, had those two French students tied up and stabbed over 200 times, then burnt just the other day.

Have to really watch you're back when walking down the street now.


Oh and it's Four this week.

I think the French students were unrelated. However, I agree, it is really concerning me now. Fortunately I do not live in an area where street gangs are a problem, but I nonetheless have been following a lot of the documentaries on TV lately about gags and it truly scares the shit out of me. It's only a matter of time before they become more widespread.

I hate to say it, but I think we're ging to have to start putting guns in the hands of police.

The French were robbed for there games consoles (PSP) and phones, thats why i added it as thats the sort of stuff that the gangs go for in the area easy to sell on.

Never see the police apart from there once a week 20 second drive past.

Had to call the police the other week (or the week before?) when we had a gang threatening to burn us out of our house after we told them to stop breaking a tree down in front of the house.
Next day the police turn up and tell us not to say anything and just call them next time...

There are a few PCO's around but they can't do anything at all, hell seen them running from a gang at one point.

Away from Chups fetishes and back on topic. It is getting silly and they've as much chance of getting kids to stop walking around tooled up - whether it be knives or screwdrivers - as they have of Spurs finishing in the top 4 this season.

Just be thankful it's not like Nottingham* where it's guns the kids are carrying and not knives...

As for guns, I've watched two programmes this week that says hat kids in Liverpool and London have guns now as well. That's why we need police with guns now, as much as I hate to say it. Fact is that there are ow far too many guns in the hands of these little shits for the police to pose any threat to them with hand cuffs and pepper sprays.

Used to have a russian gun factory in the house behind a few years ago, they used to convert blank pistols.

Interesting comment ... I find the idea of police officers not carrying guns fairly bizarre.

Well they never needed to til now, it's gotten that bad.

Forget the police. The police can't do nothing unless they stumble into the crime as it is happening. (though they do need guns)

Put the guns in the hands of the people. Well at least the ones who want them.

On top of that you guys need to reform your laws about self defense so those being attacked can go all out without fear of going to jail. Your laws also need to be reformed so people like Darkening can take a bat to someone whose breaking down his property (tree in this case) without fear of jail.

Your laws also need to be reformed that you send crooks to prison for real long times.

In short it's time for the UK to stop coddling the criminals and start beating the shit out of them.

1 Give us guns only arms the arseholes that commits the crime in the first place

2 Dont believe the tabloid bullshit you read. You get attacked here and you give your assailant a going over (within reason), the police will pat you on the back.

According to you guys they are already starting to carry them. You see criminals by their very nature don't follow the law as evidenced by the fact they are starting to arm themselves in violation of laws already on the books.

So preventing the law abiding from guns does nothing to stop the criminal from getting the guns.

It's not going to stop. Criminals are going to continue to get more and more guns as time goes on. They are going to get better quality guns as well not just the conversions. You might as well allow the general LAW ABIDING public to carry guns if they want.

Seems like your country coddles criminals to me. Glad I don't live in it.

Seems your murder rate is jumping right now even without the guns.

Criminals who want to kill will kill regardless of what they use to do the deed.

Let the people choose to defend themselves with guns if they want.

They're already armed. It's the victims who aren't.

Whilst I think Zombie's "everyone needs guns" panic is over the top, I think that the "it'll get a lot worse" line has also had its day. It's becomeig amjor problem now and has gotten significantly worse in even the past two to three years. There are plenty of regulated gun carrying police forces in Europe that don't encounter the US murder rate so I think you have to accept that there is a problem and it requires a solution other than "do nothing".

Don't bother. They'll never go for it. It's too "uncivilized" to do everything in your power to defend your life, your family, your friends, and the sanctity of your home.

Doubly so since it's the unwashed-masses-called-Americans train of thought.

I didn't say everyone needs guns. I said let those who want them get them. BIG DIFFERENCE.

Don't think the general population should have guns as we are a very very violent people.

I'm reminded of Obi Wan killing Grievous with a blaster, then tossing away with disdain the device that just fucking saved his life.

Or the episode of Buffy when a demon attacked a bank, and Buffy prevented the guard from shooting it, saying "these things (guns) never help!", whereupon she had to spend 5 minutes physically beating the demon, almost losing, before finally brutally killing it with her bare hands.



Sometimes, it's simply the correct tool for the job.

The homicide rate in the United States is 4.28 per 100,000 people, the United Kingdoms is 1.4 per 100,000 people. So ours is 3 times higher than yours. I don't know about you, but I'm willing to sacrifice 2.8 lives per 100,000 provided I get to have a gun to defend myself in the event of such an attack.

New York is also three times safer then London now.

I look forward to the upcoming Brit newspaper articles detailing suspects of crime owning an "arsenal" of several butter knives as well as "highly powerful" steak knives that are capable of easily slicing through flesh!

Utter and total bullshit. Your society is no different then ours or anyone elses for that matter. You people are not the "Klingons" of the human race.

It just looks like you guys are more violent but that is due to the fact that you coddle your criminals.

Outside of certain trouble spots - why Nottingham is so bad I have no idea, but I'm bloody glad I don't have any family there any more - there isn't that much trouble over here. In those trouble spots, it's always been bad - I'd only been at senior school a few weeks when the bus conductor was stabbed in the throat by a kid from a nearby school, and that was in Brixton in1971. But in Colchester while we've had a few nasty murders, they've nearly all been domestic or drug-related, there isn't a big knife culture and there's certainly no illegal guns on the street (quite a few legal ones, as I still haven't given up trying to drill into certain people's heads that almost anyone here that wants a gun can get one).

Meh, we need to open Dutch style cafes in our major cities with a minimum age of 14. Get the little fuckers too stoned to want to fight each other.
