Seriously, why are you guys so terrified at the prospect of Obama winning the election? Most of the righties (and even quite a few lefties and middleman) all appear to be close to shitting themselves over the prospect of an Obama presidency.

For me Obama appears to be an intelligent, well spoken candidate who plays the political hack game like every other sorry candidate that's come along in the last 20 years. I don't buy into the whole "change" hyperbole anymore than I would any other politician, and neither should you. But people like Limbaugh, Hannity, and even Kirk1Adm are all foaming at the mouth that the world will come to an end if Obama is elected.

So let's look at this reasonably and intelligently without the partisan hysteria -- tell me once and for all what bothers you the most about Obama and why he's bad for the country.

Speaking for myself, I am not "afraid" of Obamessiah, nor am I "afraid" of McCain. I do not think either of these men are worthy of holding the highest office in this country. Many of the views that Obama holds and promotes are too similar to those of Jimmy Carter.

I think a fair question to ask of you is why you are eager to have another Jimmy Carter take office?

Do you notice that even when Bill Clinton was running for President, there were not a lot of people comparing him to Jimmy Carter?

Because they support the republicans and Obama looks likely to win for the democrats.
Therefore everything he does is worthy of scorn and derision.

For the most part, I don't really care who wins because I think we're kind of screwed either way. For Obama specifically, I'm a little concerned about his social engineering attitude and his hostility towards the 2nd Amendment. If he gets elected, I won't shit my pants though.

    "Afraid"? That's silly.

Why fear the inevitable? For the record, I think McCain and Obama suck equally.

Yea I don't get it either. But the anti-Obama people didn't "get" why I thought Bush would ruin the U.S. So

Anti-Obama? Or is it that some of us simply do not buy his rhetoric, or his voting history?

Were you accused of that? Or were the people who daily and almost hourly posted just about they could find on him. Hell there was a point in which for some, like birdboi, virtually any world problem was the result of Bush, any bad weather pattern was the result of Bush.

That really isn't the case with Obamessiah... yet anyways. ;)

I think we "righties" are not afraid of his Presidency, we are simply afraid of the results of his likely policies. His record, what there is of it, is well to the left of center and that does, frankly, scare us. We are afraid the "big government" mentality will gain even more purchase in the electorate simply as a result of at least four years of that becoming the official U.S. policy.

The sad part is that you believe this is representative of half the country. I guess I could form my opinion of the Democratic party based entirely upon viewing a loony parade at Berkely, but I'm not a complete tool.

Nope, not in the slightest bit worried about this.

Couldn't care less about what gays do or if they get married or even want to have their own gay-only shopping malls.

Nope, but living where I live, it's hard to ignore the problems caused by illegal immigration. However, I blame the Repubs and the Dems equally for doing nothing about it.

Nope. Don't worry about this one bit.

Not worried about it one bit HERE, but worry about my European brethren. I hope the spirit of Charles Martel moves them before it's too late.

You fuckin' kidding me? I PRAY for this!

Not even close to being on the radar, and ss long as I know where to cut the deer, this will never happen.

I'm not worried about this because I know "how the book ends". ;)

Nonsense. Democrats like to own property just as much as anyone else does. They'll just raise property taxes to prohibitive levels. ;)

Normally I would accept that as a rational response if it wasn't for the fact that every other topic you create in the Red Room is an anti-Obama thread. So someone whose rhetoric you simply claim to not buy seems to have you obsessing over him.

You've missed my "anti-McCain threads apparently. Simply pointing out and posting a politicians inconsistencies, lies, and distortions is not being "anti". I have done it for both McCain and Obama.
Really, well I'll keep that in mind the next time you begin a thread that has negative information about a political figure. :techman:

No, but then again the internet wasn't as popular back then and we didn't get to read your words of wisdom every day. Honestly, you and maybe one or two others here at WF are the only ones I've seen comparing him to Carter. If by "a lot" you mean yourself and those other few Wordforgers, then I'm sure "a lot" of people probably compared Clinton to Carter.
