[yt=He pities tha fool]DvpKouRTCx0[/yt] Mars needs to grow a spine. You know, maybe....maybe....if the guy in that video had a pink triangle on his shirt (or a picture of The Village People or Richard Gere and a gerbil) it could be argued that the assumed homosexuality of the speed-walker is an issue. As it stands, the organizations protesting this are merely affirming and reinforcing stereotypical idiosyncrasies and feminine affectations which are often applied to gay men by homophobes. At worst, speed-walking looks silly, but it's way over the top to suggest that it's necessarily "gay".
Spot the difference An advert intended only for the UK was pulled because US fundies who'd never seen it complained.. Fuckwits, all
Since when has a gay person walked like that on a normal day, going to work? Unless he was speed walking, then maybe.
I'm actually wondering if the folks at HRC don't understand what speed walking is. I get the idea that the walker is being presented as a gay man, rather than as a sissy.
I always thought it would be cool if Mr. T caved some fool's head in with a golf club while saying "it's Tee/T time!" Alas, I'll have to buy the episodes on DVD for any deleted scenes/out-takes.
I like all three of those commercials (two from Snickers and the one from Heinz)! The only ad I've actually liked, in recent memory, is the discovery channel "I love the world" ad.
Well, if you are all for the HRC finding a reason to be offended and getting that ad pulled then you must think it was just fine for the Christian coalition to do the same with that gay kiss ad. No one should just suck it up if they feel the least offense, everyone should censor their butthurt away.
