    Another year...still here.

A million and one reasons to be grateful...and very close to the top for me is WF and all you wonderful people.

Friends, enemies...trolls, whiners...intellectuals and the not so brilliant....we all have a home to come to, wherever in the world we may be and that place is Wordforge.

There is always a light on in the window for you folks.

The fact it's someone dying in a fire is only incidental and in no way takes away from the homey sentiment, fuckers.

    What? Hallmark, I ain't. :finger:

Be sure to use a meat thermometer when preparing your turkey, folks.

You could get nasty burns to the penis if you try to stuff a turkey that is too hot. :ramen:

Drink hard, kiddos; this is the only day of the year that most of us will be off work/school/parole.

Just three of us at home this year. But there will still be a turkey. And gravy! How can any day with gravy be a bad one?

    Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Yep, Wrodforge & Thanksgiving...both contain more turkeys than you can shake a stick at.

Is anyone else going to watch the Macy's parade? I always love that.

The kids love to watch it, but I just moved and haven't gotten my TV service hooked up yet.

Which sucks, since I'll have the kids, my parents, and my girlfriend here; I'll have to entertain them all while trying to get dinner cooked. (Ham, turkey, sweet potato casserole, breads, baked potatoes, broccoli, corn) I cheated this year and bought dessert but I'm not going to attempt a pumpkin pie on top of everything else.

    [action=faisent]looks around the house[/action]

    And I have to clean.

I think all the word leading to Thanksgiving Dinner is why I remember them to be rather strained affairs when I was a kid!

When I was a kid, we always went to my grandmother's house and she did all the cooking (ie, no work for us). Now we haven't established a tradition yet, so it's still kind of whoever wants to do it does.

My sister and I have spent the last few years arguing over who hosts; for awhile it was me since I had the young kids and she didn't, now that mine are older and she has the younguns we tend to migrate to her place.

This year she's sick though so I get to host; which is cool from the pov of not having to go anywhere and I can drink as much as I need to put up with the chaos. Though its bad from the pov that I have to drink as much as I need to put up with the chaos. ;)

LOL That sounds about right most times. I think I'll be happy to keep going to other people's houses and just bring the pie.

Ah, Dan you can celebrate with us. I was very surprised that there was no thanksgiving in the UK. It truly is just another day over there just like the 4th of July. Happy thanksgiving eveyone, even I have things to be thankful for. The sun is bright today, going to do some pump system tests on my solar collector on the roof, its 26 degrees outside and the sunlight is not direct on the panel as of yet. Wife made a turkey and we go to my moms for TG dinner at 5pm. I hope everyone is warm and gets to practice gluttony on this, so holy day ;)

Well, if you were here, you would be most welcome to join us, mate. Its one of those days where nobody should have to eat alone. I did that a couple times in the Military, away from family and all and it sucks. Its a mental thing I know because it really is just another day, still its depressing.

The wife and I will watch the Macy's parade and then head up to Hon Dah casino for Thanksgiving dinner. Then there will be lots of football. :)

(both of our families are scattered all over the country. we'll fly to Illinois to visit my folks for Christmas)
