. . . and not destroy your computer in rage. [YT="TSA thugs detain Campaign for Liberty representative"]XMB6L487LHM[/YT] The young man was carrying a few thousand dollars in cash from book sales at the conference he attended, which made him automatically suspect in the eyes of the TSA. They detained him and questioned him for about half an hour, where they demonstrate their lack of understanding of the law and the man's rights. Is carrying a lot of cash in and of itself really that great of an indication that you've got some kind of wrongdoer? But let's keep this positive - this does have a bit of a happy ending: he was let go and made his plane (always get there nice and early, in case security holds you up!). He didn't get the shit beat out of him, or get shot in the back, or have illegal things planted on him to excuse the thugs' behavior. I think he even got to keep his money - more than a lot of folks can say after cops determine that they've got too much cash! Yay!
Yes, it's fucked up, those TSA guys sounded like their training consisted of watching bad cop shows when it comes to interrogation tactics. They sound like mall security guards drunk on power. But, "This courageous and persistant lover of liberty" Seriously? Why doesn't the host just come out and offer to blow the guy like he sounds like he wants to.
Oh, no! The last time somebody dared me to listen to something, it turned out to be a bunch of Yoko Ono tracks. I prayed for someone to drive an icepick through my skull.
Absolutely disgraceful conduct by the TSA. You want some entertainment, check out the TSA blog and read thru the public comments. Oy.
I've despised the TSA since I sent them an email warning of how a loaded gun could easily be snuck past security at a medium sized airport I used to frequent. It was ignored, and they didn't do the very obvious fix to the issue. I sent the same email THREE TIMES. Screw those fags.
Yes. He's carrying large amounts of cash, flying, and uncooperative. First thing that comes to mind is "drugs". Now, TSA is a group of overblown thugs playing real cop, but this guy didn't help himself at all.
My bank acted like dicks when I wanted to cash an $11,000 check from the US Treasury. I had to bitch to get enough cash to buy an old 86 24' motorhome. I dont think anyone should be fucked with over cash. I dont care if they buy a crack rock as big as a beachball. Its none of our business.
Well, it depends, how big was that branch of your bank? I know mine isn't incredibly large and they don't have enough cash on hand to cover $11k at a moment's notice. Last time I went to them for like $10k in cash, the bank manager, who is a friendly guy asked if I could give them 2 hours.
