That's why you get no support here anymore. You've always ducked out of a fight. And that's just fucked up.

Board manipulation just for...lulz? I'm not sure what you mean.

I still champion the neg repping of baba and starguard. How can I not? I also am for a reduction in the number of spam threads they post. It clutters up the fucking board. Those are goals of mine.

They are also goals of many of the members here.

Several respected members attempted to do something about it by using rep to dissuade others from posting in their threads. A great idea, but somewhat flawed.

As you know, some people are immune to the dissuasion of rep, such as myself (as I am a god-like being) and Liet (who is a douche-like being). Obviously, if the goal was to reduce the time a baba/startard thread stayed on page 1 of the RR, that plan wasn't going to work.

Maybe eventually a baba thread will be a post by him and a reply by Liet and Liet-lite, but, as we've seen, that's not enough to keep a baba thread off the front page.

But now Eliteforge has taken not one, but two extraordinary steps to reduce retard spam on WF.

First, you've actively been boxing up bumped threads. Bravo! Now if you'll take the next step and box up all of baba's threads on a daily basis, you'll really be on the right track.

Second, you've installed the previously 'unworkable' ignore thread hack, making surfing the front page of the red room a much less retarded task - if that's even possible.

And all of this is possible thanks to Scorponok (his publication of an already popular idea) and Liet (his hyperbolic reaction to the idea). They, as we lawyers like to say, properly framed the issue for you, Eliteforge, to finally get off your lazy asses and do something about the problem. Congratulations to all!

If you really and truly want to effectively bump threads, you need to open about 30 tabs and type in your quick replies in each of them then every fifteen seconds post and close the tab.

That's quite a lot of words you wasted for something "that isn't about me."

I find it funny that those complaining about spam aren't told to suck it up, but instead get a board feature installed just to quit their bitching, whereas those protesting censorship get warned. It just strengthens the ideas of favoritism that we've witnessed for years.

In case you haven't noticed, I tell most everyone to suck it up and ignore it.

O2C did what he did on his own as far as I know. At this point it's in Lanzman's hands as to whether he likes the solution or not.

Nope, O2C and I coordinated that. The ignore thread hack is not necessarily permanent, btw . . . if it proves to give too great a performance hit to the board, it goes away.

I fail to see a problem here. Instead of a vague, arbitrary spam rule which would no doubt generate tons of :shitstorm: threads every time a mod decided to enforce it, you guys now have the option of ignoring threads started by posters you don't like or who looked at you funny. It's just like the "ignore poster" thing, only it works on fora instead of individual threads. Of course, you always had the option to ignore threads or posts you didn't like, but that seemed beyond the abilities of many here.

The "problem" is that the ability to annoy others without consequence is a cherished freedom on WF, and some people just can't help but throw a tantrum about it.

So, instead of letting the posters fight it out, you took sides and removed the "weapon" from the other side.

I'm not seeing a big hit to performance or server load (and given that I fixed it not to work completely stupidly like the "official" hack does, this is not a surprise).
