Meditations on Lindsay Lohan

So the kids were watching "Herbie: Fully Loaded" on TV today, and I saw enough of it to start thinking about Lindsay Lohan.



No, no, no...not THAT way!

Anyhoo, it occurred to me that had she played her cards differently, she could've been occupying the same strata as Jessica Alba right now--universally lusted over, generally liked amongst the American public, having some renown w/ her peers...

I mean, look back at Herbie, Mean Girls, Parent Trap, etc... the girls got acting chops. And she's got--or at least HAD--a killer body at one point, with great tits and a firm ass. Pretty face, nice smile, and the red hair to top it off! Also, in her earlier work, she played characters who were LIKEABLE, so the audience wanted to like her. These are all qualities that Jessica Alba currently has, and she's got her choice of projects at any given time, plus an adoring public.

Instead, Lindsay went the Britney/Paris route, and is now a joke--a mere parody of her former self, career-wise.

Honestly, I don't think it's too late. Her personal life aside, she's still a hell of an actress. If the media had been then what it is now, Elizabeth Taylor would have looked just as bad in her prime, if not worse.

After seeing Carnal Knowledge again a few weeks ago, I completely agree with Forbin's assessment that good-looking Lohan was practically an Ann Margaret clone.
