My favorite cartoon comes back on a network that won't show only the last half of an episode because of football running late? About motherfucking time.
YEAH!!!!! It's about damn time.... I've never understood how those morons at Fox couldn't get the fact that because of Football they were losing huge chunks of audience to the show. Idiots. Fox suits. All of them.
whoa. that's awesome. i read that another movie might come through, but whoa... 26 episodes! tell your friends.
YAY. CAPSLOCK CANNOT FULLY EXPRESS MY JOY. There was another movie? I didn't hear about it. Talk about it already!
Patrick Warburton (AKA "Puddy" from Seinfeld, "Brock Samson" from The Venture Bros., "Joe" from Family Guy, and "The Tick" from the live action version) said in an interview once that Fox deliberately killed the live action version of The Tick, because "they didn't own the show and they knew that if they killed it, they could replace it with some reality show that they didn't have to pay so many people for, that they owned, and could make more money from." On the plus side, many of Rupert Murdoch's "projects" seem to be losing money, so there's probably going to be a lot of folks at Fox out of jobs in the near future.
FOX?!?!? I'd heard Comedy Central had the rights. The whole point of them buying the reruns from Cartoon Network was so they'd have the rights to the DVD movies, and the new ones, and that the new ones rested on the success of the DVD movies, but they seemed pretty confident.
I'm glad they are making new episodes. While the movies helped get me through my Futurama withdrawal, they suffered from dragging the plot on to long. The only one that really held up with me was Bender's Game.
Fox owns part of Futurama, so for CC to pick up the show, they had to get Fox to sign on to the deal. (Remember, part of the deal for getting Family Guy back was that CN agreed to air the new eps a week or two after they were shown on Fox.
Congrats to the fans... But this will just fuel the "Save or show" nuts every time something is cancelled.
At the risk of sounding like I'm trolling in a non-trolling forum, I just can't get excited about Futurama. It's got about a half-dozen funny episodes to it. Then everything else is just those same half-dozen episodes with different locations and supporting characters. Never got into Farscape either. I got bored and stopped watching it during first run. Then everyone went into ecstasies over it so I gave it another chance a few years ago. I got bored 5 minutes into the episode.
I always thought that Futurama was vastly superior to the Simpsons. I never much cared for the latter. I found it a bit childish and limited, whereas Futurama always seemed to have a more intelligent wit. Family Guy is by far my favourite though and I never really saw what people got so excited about. It always seemed like an average show to me.
all of the four released special movie things are awesome. go buy them. even if you already own them, buy them again. etc.
