    1. Good on Arizona.

    2. Businesses that post 'no firearms' or similar signs on their doors do not get any business from me, just on general principles. Doesn't matter if I'm carrying or not- I take my money elsewhere.

    Well, fine.

But hang up your guns at the bar boys, cause there is no way that I as a bar owner would let someone carry a concealed weapon in my bar when they're drinking.

I agree with the move in theory, but like Chris said, alcohol and guns don't mix.

Anyone who finds the current law to be an impediment to carrying in a bar isn't likely to be drinking and carrying.

It's against the law to actually be drinking while you're carrying.
    These laws don't change that.

Ah, I guess I should have thought about that.

Well fine, if you're not drinking, then you can carry in my bar. Fuck, you could openly carry your weapon as far as I'm concerned. But no alcohol.

Lots of people go to bars and never drink, they should have the right to carry.

As long as the bar owner is given the final say on whether or not guns are allowed in his establishment, I'm fine with it. The people who aren't fine with it won't go, but that's the cost of doing business.

Nothing. They had a similar law in WA and nothing happened.

You weren't allowed to carry in 21 and over places*, but anywhere else was fine.

*which is why you make friends with the bouncers at those places and then just discretely pass them your coat when you walk in. :diacanu:

They're the ones who are already carrying in places where alcohol is served, regardless of the law!

"We don't need them in places with alcohol and families."

Is it bad that this sentence made me laugh my ass right off onto the floor?

"Fahr up them Disney cartoons, Wife-O-mine, and bring out the moonshine! Me 'n' the young'uns is gonna have us some en'ertainments!"

Yeah, that's not right - the place with family bars is South Carolina.

    It passed!

    Also of note:

Verrrrrry mixed feelings about this. Don't like the usurpation of property rights.

    :techman: I much approve.

Yet another subject that should begin and end with the wishes of the property owner. Add it to the list.

As far as bars go, now it does, whereas previously it did not.

I have to agree with the parking lot issue. It's a sound compromise in dealing with the property rights of the owner of the property and the owner of the car.

I don't see the need for a fucking compromise at all. If the owner bans it, that's it. You don't have to park there. You don't have to visit his bar. I recognize no right to access a site in violation of the owner's conditions.

My car is a separate piece of property, one whose contents are NONE OF THE FUCKING BUSINESS of the other property owner. If he doesn't want to respect that, he can fuck off. When I step out of that car, then, and ONLY then, does what I have upon my person become his business.

Should employers be allowed to search your car at any time they want if its on their lot?

Except when you park it on his property. Then you, your car, and it's contents are subject to his conditions.

No, if you don't want to respect his rules, you can go park someplace else. You act as though you have an unconditional right to access private property under any conditions you see fit. This is incorrect.

If he wants to enforce rules like that, he can put up a fence and a gate and restrict access. Until then his business parking lot is a place of public accomodation, with the property rights of the vehicle owner held intact.

So, you're gonna do whatever you want until he treats you like a little fucking kid and physically forces you to respect his wishes while on his property. Great principles, there. :jayzus:
