Even if that were true - and O'Reilly for one was on Bush's ass all the time - one network does not constitute "all" the media, right?
Here, let me explain it to you since you're obviously too stupid to understand: Whenever someone makes a statement as to how a "real" black/white/asian/indian/whatever is supposed to act/think/feel/etc, that makes them racist because they are assigning a stereotype to a race, even if it's their own, hence my statement that it's fascinating how racist some people can be against their own race.
Right. It's pretty obvious you were siding with the guy who said Juan wasn't a real black person, but I can see why you would feel the need to backtrack from that now so you don't look a racist.
David Axelrod joins the fray this morning in the attacks against Fox. [wyt=Axelrod: Fox News Is 'Not Really A News Organization]3xbOmqvJMUw[/wyt] You know, I've been thinking a bit about the attacks against Fox lately from the WH, and its historical resonance in my and many of my friends' lives. Back when I was in graduate school and many liberals were trying to figure out a way to take FOX down a notch, a video came out that some of you may know of, called "Outfoxed." It was the first liberal intellectual breakthrough in cohesively and coherently presenting a platform to challenge Fox. I remember running advanced screenings of the video on the Berkeley campus, as a way to educate one another on how to approach deconstructing Fox's 'spin' of the news. Interestingly enough, one of the guys that was a featured commentator on that video Outfoxed, who was attacking Fox then, is now one of my co-bloggers at a site that was founded by some of us. And we both, who once helped further these attacks, are now defending Fox from these attacks. If you had asked me two years ago, would I be defending Fox, I'd have said "no way." Now, in terms of free speech, it seems very important that you should. BTW, why is Axelrod attacking their news programming? I could understand the commentators, but the news programming as well? He really should not be going there, IMO.
Rahm Emmanuel, the White House Chief of Staff no less, is on record telling CNN to ignore Fox. I was particularly amused by the part where Dunn said Fox wasn't a news organization because--wait for it--they fact-checked a statement made by an administration official!
Are there any morons left floating around who still want to claim Obama's not bad news? Attempting to stifle dissenting free press. That's just precious.
I dare them to put their money were their mouth is. Revoke Fox's White House Press Credentials. Bar them from all Democratic news conferences. Institute a party wide blackout on talking to Fox in any context, r any Fox affiliates. Go ooooonnn....Big O! DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET!!!!!!!!!
This administration is just, as usual, continuing their campaign strategies into the presidency. Obama has always retained an army of people for as much absolute control of what he wants people to hear as possible. In fact, I'll let Anita herself tell you about it: [YT="Obama Press Control"]TLR5jHlytRg[/YT] Now, he can't do many of those types of things to manipulate his image. Now he has to try and crush the opposition to maintain as much control over what he wants us to hear and how he wants us to hear it.
I just google imaged what I was looking for and copy and pasted. Never gotten someone's ire for that.
Ahhh, I see. Lemme correct that. Shoulda checked before I linked. It's early and the coffee hasn't sunk in yet.
I'm reading some other articles on Slate right now. I'm curious to see what Ehrie thinks about other things. Derp indeed.
I notice that almost all the Fox News criticism is directed at O'Reilly, Hannity, and Beck. Why can't people see there is a difference between "news" and "commentary"? The answer to me is this: Many liberals don't even try to keep news and commentary separate. They know "their media" (CBS, NBC, ABC, CNN, MSNBC, NPR) doesn't make an effort to separate news and commentary, so they don't think Fox does either. I guarantee that you'll see more liberals, Democrats, or simply Obama supporters on Fox News than conservatives, Republicans, or Bush supporters on the other news outlets.
