My mom just had her leg amputated! She had some vein/artery surgery a couple of weeks ago, and there were complications. That sucks. But on the plus side, at least she's alive. She knew something was wrong, and got help ASAP. My dad called + told me, which was very hard since he had his stroke....he's very hard to understand. This is some heavy shit.... I hope their insurance plan provides for a quality artificial limb (like the war vets are getting). But she's very tough....she'll zip thru her therapy and be walking around before we kmow it.
Sorry to here that. As you mentioned though no matter what you think about the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, the strides we have made on prosthetic limbs are simply amazing. I'm sure you are correct and she'll be up in no time. It was an amputation not a break. Too soon?
Sorry to hear it. Glad that your mom is a tough cookie. Hey, maybe she can get the artificial leg with the shotgun inside.
I see this as good news. It means whatever was very soon going to kill her has been stopped. And while things will be painful and difficult for awhile, she is alive and still with her family so it truly is a win, if a bittersweet one. Prayers and best wishes.
