Darn. I just installed windows 7....

...and now my screen's functions have changed. I have an Acer Aspire 5517 laptop that I just added this software to. Before I uploaded it, I had a small transparent box on the right side of my screen that gave me automated news and weather reports that I thought was pretty cool. Now that I uploaded Windows 7, the box is gone.

My fans dont run as much anymore (which is good), but my box is gone

Were you running Vista before? If so, it sounds like you were running some sidebar gadgets. They're desktop gadgets now, and you an probably re-add them, though God knows where - I think you're the only person who used them.

Try removing Windows 7.

Yep. Vista was already factory installed. That sidebar was really cool too. I wish I knew how to get it back

I just got Windows 7 too. Switched from XP. I like these little widgets or whatever they are. Weather, stocks and calendaer.

I'll be getting it soon, I'll be glad to ditch Vista and the endless spinning circles when asked to do the simplest of things.
