I am looking forward to it today! Should be a pretty awesome! Futurama is like Pizza, even when it's bad, it's still soooo goood.
I was underwhelmed as well, yet it was only the first two new episodes and the first episode was an introductory episode of sorts, and all intro/pilot/origin episodes tend to blow. The second episode had some funny bits but it's clear they haven't quite hit their stride. I'm hoping they'll iron out the bugs in the next couple of episodes or so. Seems as though they are trying too hard to make the episodes epic instead of funny. Just be funny, that's why we all tune in.
Good News Everyone! http://livefeed.hollywoodreporter.com/2010/06/futurama-returns-with-strong-ratings-.html Ratings were obviously going to be boosted by it being the first episodes back on the air, but this is extremely promising regarding the potential for Futurama to live a whole new long life.
Of course, Comedy Central in their infinite stupidity have made it impossible to watch the episodes online, legally. (We need a :bitemyshineymetalass: smilie!)
Yeah, they're also doing the same shit they do with South Park - running the episode a few minutes past the time slot just to fuck with people who record it. Fuck you, Comedy Central, I set my DVR to "5 minutes after" and still skip your goddamned commercials.
The latest episode is not only a good episode for the revival, but one of the funniest episodes from the whole run of Futurama in my opinion. Cracked up at the "wash bucket loves you, wash bucket has always loved you" scene.
I really hate that shit. Whats the point of doing it? If a person is taping a show that means that person won't be there to watch it. Last weeks episode was cut by a minute or so at the beginning for me.
I still haven't seen much in the way of positive this season. I really don't expect Comedy Central to pick it up again. In fact I fully do expect that this week's season finale will be the series finale for the show. AND most likely the last Futurama episode ever made.
^Yeah, I think it is just as good as it was before. The time travel episode and the body-switching episode were standouts IMO.
The episodes are a big improvement over the movies. The running gags in the movies just went on for to long. Futurama is at its best in a single episodic format.
