Might as well go straight for the Chrystal Meth or Crack and get it over with Frontline and quit playing around. People start on drugs and never come back. Best to stick with a few beers at the local pub.

Care to explain the long time weed users who still seem somewhat sane around here?

There are no sane people that would inhale that shit in their lungs. Everybody knows it can't be good for you. Just look at what is going on at the US/Mexican border of that shit. Its real harmless stuff.

There are no sane people who would consume alcohol. Everyone knows it can't be good for you. Just look at all the deaths caused by alcohol use all over the US. It's real harmless stuff.

Most people that try one form of Illegal drug usually end up using another one and that is fact, I tried it and I was lucky. Its already caused all kinds of problems, so if it becomes legal it will be a nightmare with people stopping at stop signs and waiting for them to turn green. I think it will be as much a problem or more than alcohol because cops can't test for it and so it will compound the problem with people mixing alcohol with marijuana and getting behind the wheel. The comparison to alcohol is pretty mute, it would not replace alcohol, I having tried it once or twice can say that it certainly impairs a persons ability to drive or operate anything dangerous. The last thing in the world we need it a drunk with a panic attack behind the wheel.

Just did. A person can drink one beer and be OK in an hour or so. You smoke one joint and freak out, no way I would want to be around anything remotely dangerous on that shit. Alcohol does not alter the mental state near as much as marajuana. You drink a beer and in an hour you are good to go, not so with marajuana.

Nope, I said I had tried it. It causes desperate paranoia where you know the police are coming and they are going to want to speak to you. You freak out wondering how long this shit is going to last so you can be normal again. What fun is that? Maybe it has different affect on different people, but I see no reason I would want to do it again. Its like smoking a cigarette rolled from a newspaper and you can feel it burning and making you want to cough, how can that be any good?

There has been nothing you've said EP that can't also apply to thousands of legal prescription drugs. I don't see you going on tirades over their availability.

In fact, the legal drug Marinol I mentioned above is made from cannabis. There are only matters of degrees between most opiate drugs and Heroin.

You are just parroting propaganda...and I'm not even a MJ user..never had it, before the accusations fly.

You're almost right. Marijuana's effects on your mental state and alcohol's are completely different.
Booze will make you violent, depressed, and irrational. Weed won't.
Booze will leave you waking up hungover and feeling like Ringling Bros just had a show in your head, waking up after smoking too much might require putting the jam on the eggs rather than the toast.
Booze will destroy your liver, kidneys, mind, blood vessels, teeth, and stomach with no medicinal benefit. Weed is rough on your throat and lungs, but has been shown to help with more health issues than it creates ranging from schizophrenia to menstrual cramps to epilepsy.
The disorienting effect and duration of booze increases exponentially with each dose, with weed you plateau. Likewise, individual tolerance is a big thing. I can ride a motorcycle with little added risk from a joint or three (and more importantly, decide when NOT to drive), alcohol, not so much.

When? Once in the ninth grade where you weren't sure if you inhaled or not?
Sounds more like a REALLY bad acid trip than a doob.

Also, if it tasted the way you claim, you were smoking some pretty low grade shit...

EP, that has to be some of the most backwards thinking on the subject of cannabis I have read since Jr. High, when they bought in these little tablets to burn for us all to get a whiff of so we'd know when to run, not walk but run to the closest person of authorateh.

    Puleeze. Spare us the lecture.

An interesting thing frontline is that I did a demonstration for a couple back when I was seventeen who were interested in learning about it, they said to be aware should their son decide to partake at a later age but in retrospect I suspect they had their own use in mind.

Do you know on average how many deaths due to tobacco consumption there are in the US every year? 435,000

Do you know on average how many deaths due to alcohol consumption there are in the US every year? 85,000

Do you know on average how many deaths due to marijuana consumption there are in the US every year? 0

Now you tell me which is more "dangerous" to consume.

    Sure.

Start with your stuff in some water. Reflux at a medium boil, for about 5 minutes. This will extract the components into the organic layer (active ingredient), the aqueous layer, and the remaining leaves. Strain organic and aqueous layers and set aside.

Take the leaves, pulverize, and wash contents with milk, collecting contents through a funnel. This will further extract more of the organic layer.

Take leaves again, pulverize again, and wash again. Repeat as necessary until there is as little of the leaves left.

Be sure to keep in mind how much milk you are using, and how many times you are repeating the washing process, as you will later need to combine all contents, and how creamy the tea will be will depend on the ratio between the milk and water.

After you have washed the leaves as many times as you prefer, combine with the organic/aqueous layers you had set aside earlier. Your active ingredients are now prepared and the rest is up to you, according to taste.

At this point one can just follow a simple chai recipe. For instance, just combine the tea water/milk and then add some anise seeds (my favorite) for flavor. (Eucalyptus, cardamom, cinnamon can also be used). Add sugar to taste, add whatever remains of the pulverized leaves, reflux for a few minutes, and drink! Cool or chill if you want also.

    ****

Also -- another way to prepare the active ingredients is heat the leaves in an oven (make sure the oven temperature is below 150 degrees as that is the active ingredient's boiling point). Time it carefully, you do not want the leaves to scorch, and the desired end product should be something that crumbles into a powder like substance. Heating in this manner separates the active ingredients, chlorophylls, etc from the cellulose cell walls, diminishing some of the acridness (I blame any remaining cellulose for this) in the final product. Once you have the powder like substance, you can just follow the chai recipe -- milk, water, sugar, etc to taste.

The crystallization of materials in the oven, btw, is also a good way to prepare your materials for eventual fractional distillation (which is fun) should you have any such interest, and of course, liquid column chromatography (which I have not performed, but I hear is the level best preparation).
