You don't just pull it out of the ground and then attach a bomb to it, there's quite a significant process involved in breaking it down in to yellowcake. In any event it sounds like these Nigeran AQ wankers are more interested in making money than waging war upon the world. The almighty dollar wins again.
Even more than that. Yellowcake is still 99%+ U-238 (of the Uranium - a significant fraction of it is Oxygen), which, with a half-life on the order of 4 billion years, is really not terribly dangerous.

It does, however, involve mentioning the stuff in nuclear weapons and radiation, all of which will kill you, cause you to turn green, etc., etc., etc. You wrap a stick of dynamite in freakin' radium, set it off some place like NYC, and you'll create a panic, thanks to the news media screaming about radiation and mentioning all the clock face painters dying from radium poisoning (because they were swallowing large amounts of the stuff).
