http://blogs.forbes.com/artcarden/2...-nudity-doesnt-make-us-safer-abolish-the-tsa/ This guy strikes me as a little naive as to think that either side is interested in being bipartisan except in the pursuit of more power for the TSA, but I love the sentiment.
While I don't agree that the usual argument than the free market will do it better and more safely (did we learn nothing this summer?), I do agree that the TSA is a massive waste of time and money.
While we are abolishing jack-booted agencies that never should have been formed in the first place, we might as well throw in Homeland Security while we're at it.
Obvious solution to resistance to TSA's enhanced patdown procedure: Have hot strippers do the patdowns for a 25 dollar fee. This would also solve the deficit problem.
And how about that sunset on the PATRIOT act, too. I can't wait 'til the Dems get their chance to finally fix that.
You guys are hilarious. You were either silent for eight years of Bush, or you did the "Hey, if you're not a terraist, you've got nothing to worry about" riff. All of a sudden you've got an objection. Now, someone make the "OBAMESSIAH11!!1!" speech, and I'll remind you that (A) he's a moderate, not a radicalibrulsoshulist and (B) he was not my first choice of candidate. Carry on. Nothing like a cheap laugh to start the week.
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20101115/ap_on_re_us/us_airport_security_san_diego More like this, please!
I'm about 95% sure I voiced concerned about the PATRIOT Act from beginning, and 100% sure I vocally opposed it and its renewals and successors from at the latest 2003 onwards. I know I was posting threads about who had written it, back in TNZ. You're getting old and senile, garamet.
Pax (Looks suspiciously like Jayne): I ain't goin' through any stinkin' perv patdown by a gub'mint employee! Pilot (Looks suspiciously like Wash): Did you know they're using strippers now and they actually charge you $20 for the patdown? Pax: I'm in.
Are you sure you've got the right board? 'Cause I seem to recall alot of howling around here over the Patriot Act and the TSA.
She's conveniently using the board glitch that killed years worse of threads to excuse her senility. She knows damn well what she's doing, and knows that we can't prove anything because the relevant threads are GONE.
Don't give her any ammunition on this one. She's the one that made the accusation. She's got to back it up. We don't have to disprove this to her satisfaction at all.
Forgive me for seeing the truth as it is. Frankly, garamet's bullshit is totally ineffective on me. I don't care WHAT she claims. You and I both know what's true.
You have to admit this isn't quite what we were sold by the government when they first announced the implementation of these scanning machines.
Indeed. I was pleased when they didn't have them in Vegas! I will always opt out. Also, I think you should be able to choose the person from available staff who will grope you. I mean, it's not sexual at all, right?
I think the TSA and airlines are doing a good job of killing themselves. My recent experience traveling to Prague was just an uptight, embarrassing nightmare were TSA and their European counterparts are concerned. So many damn games and bullshit. Air travel is certainly not for the disabled with any sort of attachment like my knee brace or traveling with a Cpap machine. Atlanta is the absolute worst by leaps and bounds. There is little to no sign placement so people not familiar with the airport don't know what to do, and so the TSA yells at them. The whole thing is really run like a big joke. Yes we need security but we need some sort of organized professional security, not that disorganized bullshit.
So I guess these nekkid scanners aren't good for you if you have cancer. I guess that kind of sucks if you're a stewardess that has had breast cancer: This shit will come to a head at some point, in some way.
I've been hearing stories of amputees having to remove limbs too. TSA and the fed have gone too far. Not to mention they aren't planning and anticipating the next attack. They are only reacting to what was already done. Plus our shitty members in Congress have exempted themselves from this humiliation.
I read yesterday that a breast cancer survivor had to remove her fake tit. This shit is out of control.
Yeah, yeah, it was bad legislation that never should have passed, we were all sheep, whatever, but it was soundly voted into place by the Dems in Congress and it wasn't eliminated when Obama & Co. took control of DC. There's no way you can spin this, no way you can make your side look good. They ran on how horrible the Patriot Act is and didn't do shit about it between 2009 and 2011 when they could have.
